My son & 2 mates stayed here over their internship program for 1 month. Had the necessary appliances and well decent place to life. Cheap enough and well connected to anywhere to travel to. Simon was helpful to accommodate my boy, nothing fancy but functional enough so we are happy. Common laundry helpful as well.

If you're a student or anyone who works and needs to use the internet, then I do not recommend this hotel for you. They have terrible internet, all of their wifi hotspots have an extremely weak connection. Do not expect to be able to load videos on the internet or watch movies. It crashes even when googling something. Moreover, the... More

This place worked out really well for me: reasonably priced, centrally located, high-speed Internet and local calls included, a/c on request (and I needed it!) and the manager, Simon, was very helpful. Nothing fancy, but very functional. Studio with kitchenette, toilet and shower; coin laundry in basement. Walking distance to downtown, the entertainment district, the Plateau and the Village and,... Recently (July 2005) my wife and I went to Montreal for our 1st Wedding Anniversary, we descided to go with the better value hotel and have more money to spend on attractions. The Hotel Latin was great for the price, the rooms are small, well very small, but it was fine being a place we would just sleep. Being one... More

We've stayed in a lot of places in Montreal trying to save money, and this one was definitely the worst. Not so clean, bed very uncomfortable, smoke wafting in from others (although supposed to be non-smoking), cramped -I wanted to like it but couldn't. Not for the over 25 or married! Would be fine for a young guy (or some... More

The studios here are perfectly adequate and reasonably priced. The location is great. However, watch out for the supercilious manager who levies an extra (and illegal!) "tax touristique" on unsuspecting anglophones. If you can deal with him (it's much easier if you speak French), it's probably worth staying.

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
