The only good thing is location. The reception people cannot speak English. Someone tried to enter my room at 2:00 am in the night. No breakfast, shabby wifi. Rooms were HORRIBLE 1950's type. Other occupants were loud noisy

This budget hotel is a dump and a pig pen. No dead bolt on doors dirty chairs and bathroom. Can rent a rent a room for a n hour. It's a Brothel!! Came out in morning and they had pile mattresses on my wife car. They must of been worn out from hour rentals. Stay way from this place.

Very BAD experience. When we arrived, the guy seemed lost and didn't know what he was doing. He had a hard time understanding English, which was hard to communicate with him. I told him I was paying cash for the room, he kept bugging me to pay with my credit card... On the online reservation I did asked for indoor... More

The location is the only "positive" about this hotel. The man who owns it cannot speak French or English and if you book online (through Hotwire or Expedia etc) he'll refuse you even though you've already been charged. Thankfully we got our money back! All we saw was the lobby and it was really gross, and he was folding linens... More

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. These guys are scammers. Claims hotel is full when I checked in eventhough I had paid reservations. Then later, wanted to add 10% extra because I used my credit card. Incredible. How can they be allowed to stay in business? The front desk guy was obnoxious besides being... More

We travelled from Toronto for March break. The lobby looks nice but it stops there. They charged me 159.70 for one night not including breakfast or parking. The clerk couldn't speak English OR french. He kept charging my debit card over and over stipulating his debit machine was out of paper and didn't go through?? I refused to believe him... More

There were cigarette butts in glasses & empty hash vials in TWO drawers in the room. There was a fingernail in the sheets. Everything, the phone, the garbage pails etc were filthy, The bottom of the bathtub was like a rollercoaster. It moved when stepped on, I had to hang on to the wall while showering & we thought we... We booked a room here and arrived in the evening. The front desk clerk was not there. We tried to ring him on the bell he had next to his desk but the jerk did not answer. We tried to phone him but no answer. No sign was left on the desk that he would be back or that they... More

I would like to advise travelers to not stay at this hotel, despite the inviting prices. I had a very disappointing stay at the hotel. I had planned to visit Montreal for the Thanksgiving holiday. I had planned to stay at this hotel for three nights, seeing how it was not very expensive. The lobby and the first floor appeared... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
