What an interesting change in demographics in the neighbourhood. L'Appartement Hotel is a recycled apartment building. The rooms are spacious but may soon need cosmetic renovation. Furnishing is 'early Walmart'. Each room has a small balcony. Windows open. Self-serve continental breakfast is ample, as one visitor found when she made 6 pieces of toast and two bagels for her early...

My husband and I stayed here from Friday September 5th to Sunday September 7th. We were in town for the Montreal Tattoo Convention. The hotel was in a great location. We were a short walk away from everything. I had researched about 20 different hotels and found that L'Appartement had the best bang for our buck. We had a room...

L'Appartement Hotel is a comfortable and reasonably priced lodging option in beautiful Montreal, QC. The location is near McGill University and the business district, so neighborhood is hopping with students and workers, alike. There are plenty of bars, bistros, and cafes in the area along with a decent grocery store and pharmacy. Our room was an efficiency with refrigerator, microwave,...

If you are a parent of a McGill student, this is definitely the place for you! Literally a couple of minutes' walk to the campus. We had a one bed studio appartment, with a fully equipped kitchenette (didn't really use it but would have if stayed longer). The room rates include continental breakfast in the albeit, a bit too small,...

The hotel and rooms are not new but they have all the facilities you may need in. the position is very good: 3 minutes walking from st. catherine street (reasturant and shopping), 20 minutes walking until the main entrance of parc du mont royal (you can also go by bus), 10 minutes from chinatown and 15/20 minutes from old city....

Stayed here when I went for a course at McGill University in Montreal. Nice studio apartment with a full kitchen. Good view of the city. Walking distance to Saint Catherine street with excellent shopping and restaurants. Fancy a trip to Montreal Eaton Centre...? It's just a few minutes walks. Will stay here again.

Stayed here in a one bedroom suite for one night. Loved the hotel and the location for our purposes. Kitchenette is well equipped ( although we did not use it). Very adequate complimentary continental breakfast also included. Overnight parking a little challenging to get to !

Stayed 12 nights in August and staying there improved as time went on. Very important was having a comfortable big bed. Ours was on first floor so easy to walk up to. We shopped locally and cooked meals or at least assembled salads in the kitchen. Noisy air con in room so didn't use and also noisy air con unit...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
