Clean, Okay service, not anything to write home about! The lobby is nice, classy, there's a piano upstairs but you can't play it so that was a bummer. The restaurant was sort of good but definitely not complimentary. Service was weird at first but our waiter was much nicer at the end for some reason. Good location for restaurants, we...

Stayed for 5 days.. Pros..friendly staff and informative.comfortable room. Free wifi . Not far from city center. Clean. Near supermarket and restaurants nearby. Cons..hot breakfast items not hot. Too many homeless people on corner ,being a nuisance to visitors. Overall visit.. Pleasant, but very cold at times. Cold but bundled up and enjoyed walking around city. Bought 3 day pass which...

I totally agree with all the terrible reviews already existing. We booked this hotel through Hotwire. A 4-star hotel for $120. How bad could it get? (Through that website we previously stayed at Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott, Embassy Suites, InterContinental, Delta Hotels etc..) So we knew it could not go wrong in terms of class. Now, why did we select this...

We stayed at the Hotel Gouverneur back in February 2016 (the weekend when Montreal was a delightful -33C, colder than the Yukon and NWT). Needless to say, we enjoyed our getaway from Toronto. We were happy with the hotel's proximity to the Gay Village and subway/transportation, as well as hotel access to the supermarket on the main floor. The heating...

Great location, internal access to subway, and helpful staff. Decor could use an upgrade, but very affordable given proximity to key attractions. Some area hotels charge a fortune to park, but this one was $20 for a full 24 hours.

My boyfriend and I had a very stressful holiday season, and booked a weekend here to get away for some romantic time together. The hotel lists itself as a 4 star property, but we have not had anything approaching a 4 star experience. We were not told upon booking that there is a strike at the hotel, and so housekeeping...

Sitting atop the central subway station, this hotel is an ideal base for anyone wanting the explore the city through the subway network. Facing a very active park with many shows and performance, it is also located at the entry of the very festive Gay Village which is entirely pedestrian and closed off to traffic during the summer months.

My partner and I have been staying here for almost 20 years, and while the condition of the hotel has been in slow decline, we have found the location ideal, staff and service outstanding. Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
