Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.

When we reserved our room at Hotel L'ITHC I didn't realize it was run though a school, and there was nothing less than perfectly professional about our experience! In fact the breakfast, cleaning services and concierge were all as excellent as anywhere we've stayed! can't say enough about this hotel, and for us the location was great!

We had not planned a stay at I'ITHQ. We were booked there by another hotel which was unable to provide us the room we had previously reserved and paid for. I'ITHQ provided the room, which was a nice room. The staff made our stay as nice as it could possibly have been. They went out of our way to make sure that our accommodations were not charged to us but to the other hotel. They also have a great breakfast.

It was so nice to stay at the hotel run by ITHQ; clean and well maintained, good location, good quality breakfast and dining, and so on. One problem I found was a kind of noise from something like a machine. It may depend on the location of the room; it was 700. If you are sensitive to noise, try to avoid the room.

Lovely little rooms and the balcony is a bonus. Right on top of the Metro, excellent restaurants in the neighbourhood. Friendly staff. It would have been nice if the bar had been open earlier than 5:30. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable and the room was decent and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear Sandra K, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your feedback. We are so happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again. Our balconies are definitely a distinctive part of our hotel as very few hotels in Montreal offer balconies. Especially this time of year with warm sunny summer days, they greatly add to the overall experience. We look forward to your next stay.

We stayed 4 nights here in early June, 2019, and were pleasantly surprised: its location is very convenient to public transit (next door to a metro station (Sherbrooke) and a bus stop), it's located across the street from a small park, it's near to many restaurants, from cheap eats to fairly expensive, it has on-site indoor parking for $19/night, and the price includes breakfast. In addition, it's about a mile from old Montreal, and a 10-minute walk to a major hub of the Metro (UQAM). Those were all very helpful to us. The hotel itself is a teaching facility, so the large building in which it is housed has only 2 floors for the 42 rooms. The rooms are on the 7th and 8th floors, so street noise is reduced. And since there are no rooms across the hall from each other, the noise of other guests coming and going is also much less than usual. (There are 2 hallways, one on each side of the building, onto which the rooms open.) The rooms are of average size, and all the ones we saw from outside had small balconies with a table and 2 chairs. Our bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast is buffet style with a relatively small selection of dishes: pre-cooked eggs, meat, cold cuts, bread and bagels, cold cereal, and some fruit, both fresh and cut up. The coffee was pretty good, and the orange juice was also good. Service was friendly and efficient. Some of the desk staff are interns, so their learning sometimes required help, but that was a minor issue. The wifi often did not automatically log us in again after going out, but it was fast enough for most purposes. I would definitely stay here again, both for the price and the location. We did not eat in the restaurant, but we did enjoy the bar area for early drinks.

Dear VNvet2015, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comprehensive review. Our location is indeed ideal to get anywhere you need in Montreal and also has many services nearby. The vast majority of our rooms have balconies, making easy to enjoy the nice summer days. We are indeed a training hotel for more than 300 students every year and we are so grateful towards our guests, like you, who contribute to training and building future hospitality, tourism and restaurant managers. There is no better experience for them than to be able to apply what they learn directly with our guests. Thank you again for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming back.
