Disappointed from the moment we got here. We got a deal online that stated the room was normally over $400 and we would get it for $150 a night. Of course I jumped on it. I mean look at the pictures online. It was a no-brainer. DONT BE DECIEVED BY THE PICTURES AND THESE DEALS! We were in a basement room that looked nothing like the pictures. The room was in bad repair. The vinyl floors were separating, our bathroom door was off the hinges, the shower water barelt gets hot, if you're taller than 5'11 or more than 20" wide you will not fit through the doors, our bed had a very visible dip in the middle and we had a view of cement blocks and gravel and a diesel generator out of our small bedroom window. I also don't know how they get away with calling their breakfast a deluxe continental breakfast. There was nothing deluxe about it. Very little selection and no advertised pastries in site. You would get a better breakfast at a Quality inn. Let me also add have you ever stayed at a hotel that didn't have complementary coffee and tea in the room with a coffee maker. Not this place! They had a nespresso machine that cost $2 for every coffee used. I am currently here and will never come back. The only good thing about this place is it is in a half decent location and the service was OK. I DO NOT recommend it.

Everything here is stairs. My visit began by lugging my suitcase up the front steps only to discover once I got to the door that there was no one on duty and I had to go across the street to another hotel owned by the same group in order to check in. Thank goodness there were some guests who had just checked in who offered to stay with my bags while I crossed the busy thoroughfare to check in. Clearly, the owners spent a lot of money decorating the place, but it looks like they haven’t spent much on upkeep. Paint and wallpaper are peeling in the stairwells (of which there are many). My room had 3 lamps but only one was plugged in. As I didn’t want to move the heavy furniture to reach the outlet, I made do with the overhead chandelier and the one lamp. It’s a good thing I didn’t want to unpack because the very lovely chairs were blocking the dresser drawers. The toilet seemed to only flush completely every other time. There were lovely toiletries, which is nice, and the bed was fine. Breakfast was uninspired and by 8:30 am they were out of milk and bowls. I got the impression that the staff there aren’t particularly happy.

Promised free parking then charged for valet. Don’t want my car driven by someone else. Don’t want to be nickeled and dimed. Don’t appreciate the misdirection. DO NOT STAY. Plenty of better nicer HONEST hotels in MTL will never go again. STAY AWAY

Visited here whilst in Canada and wouldn’t return. There is a steep flight of steps to enter the building and once inside there is no lift so if carrying a heavy suitcase up the front stairs doesn’t destroy your back, then lugging it up each floor will. Hotel in need of repair and redecoration. Front of house staff were very nice but only stay here if you’re fit and don’t have any luggage

I sent an email to the manager and called, no response very disappointing so more recently I messaged and emailed the general manager of the hotel- again no response. I have been staying at the Chateau Versaille for nearly 20 years. During that time i have been very happy with the Hotel logging dozens of nights and many stays. However during this stay, 7/15-7/17, i found the condition of the hotel room to be particularly disturbing: 1) The air conditioning was not functioning correctly and upon check-in maintenance adjusted the temperature, but the room never cooled as in the past visits. On the second night it was so uncomfortable that we nearly phoned the desk at 3AM, but decided since we were checking out at 7 AM we would not bother the desk. 2) In addition the carpeting in the room had many stains as you can see in the pictures I have attached, not very appealing and quite disappointing for a hotel of your caliber. 3) Finally the maintenance of the bathroom was not up to your standards, from peeling paint, mold and hanging caulk again very disappointing.

Took 747 bus from Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to Lionel Groulx Metro station which was approximately twenty- five minutes. Took Green line towards Honore-Beaugrand and got off two stations later at Guy Concorde. Take the first car so that you can exit at St Matthieu. The hotel is two blocks away on Sherbrooke. Hotel can’t be missed Olson e it’s located right on the corner. The ticket to travel is purchased at airport for $11 and can be used for unlimited travel within 24 hours. Check in to hotel was quick and easy. Since I arrived prior to 3:00 p.m. check in I left my luggage and walked in the nearby area. I was in room 404 which is the last floor. It’s a walk up. Room had exterior view. I found room to be clean. Although it’s no -smoking it did seem previous guest had been smoking. I mentioned it to front desk and when I returned later that evening smell was gone. Room size is nice and comfortable. Working safe box is provided along with umbrella, iron and ironing board. Toiletries were provided and refilled along with towels on a daily basis. No complaints about noise, it was a quiet hotel. Continental breakfast was fine. Being able to get croissants and pain-au-chocolate when it’s warm is good. Hotel location is great since you can walk downtown, Mont Royal Park and as far as Old Montréal if you are a walker. Getting an unlimited card for at least three days makes it easier to cover a lot of the city. There are many spots to eat with a large selection in cuisines especially along St Catherine. I would definitely recommend this hotel . Staff was always helpful.

The location is great. This is the only good thing about this hotel. It was our third time there, the last one, I pledge. Overpriced, run down, outdated. Now for the details: we paid $280 for a standard room. Which is a dark room in the basement. If you don’t want to stay in the basement you should choose a deluxe room. Carpets are old, feel dirty, and most likely are dirty. Bathroom’s fixtures and room’s fixtures were old and malfunctioning. For example, it was nearly impossible to adjust the water temperature in the shower, and was impossible to switching shower to spout. Room’s window could not be opened: the handle was missing. During COVID, it is critical to be able to have a good ventilation, at least when switching guests.

Please look at the exterior pictures. There are 15 steps to reach the entrance door, which was locked when we arrived, although the note stipulated the reception was manned from 11am to 7pm. Otherwise, we had to check in at the Meridien across the street. This is unacceptable when you carry a heavy suitcase. So we had to go down with our suitcases, cross the road check in and start again. Further to that, there were 2 more sets of steps to climb to reach our room. This is not what to expect from 4 stars, boutique hotel...ummmm. Like everywhere in Canada, there is a shortage of staff. Fine, but don't take COVID-19 as the excuse any more. Some companies cut corners but don't drop the prices. The room was fine, but tired. The bed was comfortable but noisy. We were lucky to be at the back which was very quiet. Breakfast was served in a totally inadequate room, far too small for the number of guests. The tables were tiny. Lots of guests had to seat on the sofas and use the coffee tables. There was only one attendant who was overwhelmed. The young lady was really lovely but poor staff there was so much to do. Every morning we had to ask for something, being juice, glasses, croissants etc sometimes several items. She was rushed off her feet but was extremely nice. I would not say the same about the young male who did not seem to care. We only had 1 1/2 bagel left when we went for breakfast, asked for croissants, but they did not materialize. We are not picky, but the choice is very small. What was the most annoying was he was wearing his headphones as if he wanted to switch off from us. That is a no no. It is a shame as this could be a very nice place to stay. I want to stress that apart from one member of staff the rest based at the Meridien hotel were wonderful. The set up is a disgrace though.

Thank you GBfroggy for taking the time to write your review. We unfortunately were suffering heavily in the staffing department and of course Covid-19 is still around which can reduce our numbers at times unexpectedly. None the less, these are sincerely our challenges and should not reflect on the promises and expectations as they did in this particular situation. I am sincerely sorry we were unable to provide you with the services and experience you deserved. I would like you to know that we were not intentionally cutting corners as you mentioned but simply doing the best that we could under the circumstances. Since your stay with us we have finally been able to find, hire and train new staff in order to better accommodate all our present and future guests. I do hope that you will give us another chance to change your perspective, please feel free to reach out to me directly prior to booking and I promise to take great care of your next journey . Firstly there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this hotel. The staff are friendly when they are around but you still have to check in across the road at Le Meridian, and there are no lifts, meaning that you might have to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. Our room does not have air conditioning and so to stay cool you have to camp out in the breakfast room downstairs, which does have air conditioning. You also want to ask for a room not facing the main road because it is on a busy junction and there is considerable road noise, especially from early morning. The bathroom is also very small and a tall person or a larger person would find going to the toilet very cramped/uncomfotable. The fixtures and fittings also need a bit of attention. On the positive side, we have a very comfortable bed, the shower is good, there is a limited but free continental breakfast and the location is pretty good (5 minutes from closest metro station, close to Mont Royal, lots of good restaurants in the area). The area also feels very safe, even late at night. We booked with Trailfinders who use this hotel and we paid a decent rate. In fairness we have stayed at a very busy period with many hotels sold out due to Canadian Grand Prix weekend, a Lions International Convention and the world triathlon championship all during this week. However, the room we were given is definitely not the quality we were sold hence the 3/5 rating.

we invited a guest through our company agreement. The hotel took our payment, AND made the guest pay when she checked out. And it is taking forever to sort out the reimbursements. Staff either doesn't know who should deal with the issue, or the one person that can help is always in a "meeting" and will call us back (but never does). We will just book elsewhere next time, it is simpler.
