This is an old hotel that has been around for many years. It has a classic look and is very clean and tastefully decorated. The beds are extremely comfortable. Our room was facing the back of the hotel so it was very quiet even though the hotel is situated on a busy street. If you're looking for modern, this would... More

My niece and I spent a pleasant three night stay at Chateau Versaille. We had a very spacious room with two queen size beds and Windows on opposite walls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was included and it was more than satisfactory. Included was a choice of hot and cold beverages, toast, bagels, muffins, croissants, cereal,... More

Went here for a long weekend and to watch hockey. Once we figured out where we were, we were able to access the Metro system with ease. The room we were in was large but the temperature was impossible to control. One night we were freezing and the next we were boiling with the windows open. The washroom was rather... More

This is one huge estate. Make sure you wear shoes made for walking, though you can ride around in wagons. We tracked up 20,000 steps in a cold and rainy day at the end of April. This place was built to intimidate rivals and to flaunt extravagances. There are many fine collections of bling. So much pink marble was used... More

The Chateau Versailles in Montreal is a cute property with steps up from the street at the entrance, making it very picturesque. It is a comfortable and quirky place. The hotel inhabits an old building, with lots of staircases, and navigating the corridors can be a bit of a challenge. The deluxe room we had was spacious but the bathroom... More

I am bookending my language stay in Quebec with two trips to Montreal sandwiching the trip. I arrived on a Friday to a very cheery woman at the front desk. She was professional, courteous, and quick. My room was absolutely beautiful. This hotel is all about the little touches. It's a touch of class in every corner. From the greatly... More

Spent one night in this nice little hotel in a pair of joined historic homes on Sherbrooke West, which is downtown but just a little removed from the noise and activity of Ste Catherine and the busy part of Sherbrooke. Very nice experience. Good continental breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable bed. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

THE hotel is an Old building, nicely decorated. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. We absolutely love this kind of place. Location on sherbrook street is very good. Near restaurants and THE museum of Beaux Arts

Good location, very charming boutique hotel with a lot of nice details, good breakfast in a lovely living room, friendly personnel that gave us a great support every time was needed. Easy to find parking and close to a rental bike area. We would turn here for sure and recommend this hotel!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
