My wife and I stayed here during a vacation in Quebec. First, let me say that Marc is a wonderful host, and we would definitely stay here again. Having said that, there are a couple of things to be aware of. About parking: it is on-street parking, and as is typical of a big city like Montreal, it can be... More

The owner is nice and friendly. Very helpful. He will make sure your will enjoy your journey. He wishes to improve everytime he sees an opportunity. Rooms may be small but they are clean. Quiet area of town not far from subway and downtown.

We booked this place because it was close to the Jardin Botanic, where the Chinese Lantern Festival was amazing. But the adventure continued when we got to know our host, Marc. He was thoughtful and helpful, and we enjoyed his superb breakfasts and conversation. If you like your room and your food always the same, go to a big expensive... More

My husband & I stayed here for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary. It is located about a block from the Joliette Metro station so it was easy to find and made it convenient for exploring the city - we could be downtown in about 15 minutes. It is fairly close to the Olympic Park, home to the Biodome, Botanical... More

I stayed here last month in one of the first (upper)-floor rooms and two friends had the room across the hall. We were happy with Le Sieur de Joliette because: —The sleeping rooms were well-furnished and the beds were comfortable. Rooms were very clean. —Sleeping rooms have good lighting, air conditioners, TV, and ceiling fans. —Private bathrooms, well laid out,... More

We stayed in the bottom part of Marc's gite. We were lucky to be the only ones there so we had the apartment to ourselves. The kitchen was complete. The bathroom spacious and with plump towels. The sheets are the bed were very nice. The breakfast was filling; the ham and eggs really lovely. At night, lights lit up the... More

My wife and I made the trip up last October for a weekend and we had a wonderful time. The owner Marc was very helpful and had breakfast ready for us each morning where we chatted with some of the other guest. I forgot what room number we had, but it was a comfortable bed and closest was nice to... More

My girlfriend and I just got back from a lovely weekend in Montreal. I didn't know the area at all, but I wanted a small, cozy B&B as part of the experience and this place was perfect! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location was ideal. Our host Marc was very pleasant and very adaptable to... More

This was our first trip to Quebec and we arrived at Le Sieur de Joliette after 6 hours in the car. Marc welcomed us with warmth and friendliness and introduced us to his portly tabby cat named Camelot. We had a lovely, homey room with a heavenly queen bed (it had one of those mattresses that just hugs you right... More

My family stayed here in July 2013; we chose it because everything downtown was booked up (Just For Laughs festival) and because this B&B is very close to the Botanical Gardens and the Biodome. The B&B is undergoing renovations and, perhaps because of this, it is not presenting itself wonderfully at the moment. Our impressions were not assisted by our... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
