Anne Marie in registration was extremely helpful, as well as the rest of the staff, Good made to order breakfast, street under construction could be noisy, but still seemed to be able to sleep anyway.

We enjoyed our stay at Auberge Bonaparte. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was well located, clean and had a full, sit down breakfast. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. I would go back on our next stay in Montreal.

Hotel Bonaparte was exquisite. We had a girlfriend getaway and the 8 of us were treated like royalty. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The full, complimentary breakfast was divine and unlimited bottled water was supplied. The hotel is located in old Montreal and is central to everything. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

A small hotel but a very pleasant stay. The room was quite small but clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and did their best to make sure we had a good stay. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel has a well-regarded restaurant serving lunches and dinner. We had dinner one evening and it was... More

The Hotel Bonaparte is an excellent choice for a hotel in Old Montreal. Our group of 8 women enjoyed every minute of our time spent in this hotel. We were welcomed with a toast and were given maps and destination information. Front desk staff greeted us every time we entered or left the hotel each day. Luke was extremely helpful,... More

Loved this hotel. The room was clean, good size and had everything we needed. The location is perfect - on a small street but right in the heart of Old Montreal. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast staff were attentive. There is a nice rooftop to sit and sip some wine in the late afternoon. The hotel staff... More

We picked this hotel for quiet rooms and comfortable beds out of top rated trip advisor hotels in old Montreal and booked through the hotel's website. We got an e-mail back and I advised that we were arriving about 9:30 am on a red eye flight and we would pay for an early check-in if possible. The hotel replied that... More

I was really excited to go here. However, there is a large construction project happening right outside the hotel - heavy machinery begins operation at 7am, and continues all day. So if you're planning to sleep in on vacation, this isn't the place for you. It's loud and insistent all day on the street side of the hotel (and they wouldn't... More

We’re very sorry you had to be here during the street repairs. With the 375th anniversary of Montreal next year, there is extensive road work EVERYWHERE in Montreal and Old Montreal is not an exception. The good news is that when finished we will have one of the most charming cobblestone street in the area. However like they say, you... More

We loved our stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The glass of champagne on arrival was a nice touch. The included breakfast was excellent and the restaurant staff went above and beyond. The Bonaparte is a beautiful hotel. The location is great too. Highly recommended.

The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of many of the Old Montreal highlights. The room was lovely and the concierge was very helpful especially considering I don't speak French. She provided maps and advice on transportation and getting around. The adjoining restaurant was very good with plenty of options for breakfast.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
