This is a wonderful hotel with a very helpful staff. The front desk staff arraigned a excellent driver for us. The driver (Rudy, I believe) went above and beyond, to locate the Catholic Church that my wife's grandfather attended in the late 1800's. The restaurant and bar were also very pleasant. I would love to return soon.

This review is a reconfirmation of the many other 5 star reviews. The Bonaparte is well located in old Montreal and the service is wonderful. The concierge provided us with excellent suggestions for dinner and other activities. There is a small but wonderful rooftop deck where we met many other guests over a glass of wine. The restaurant at the... More

We stayed 3 nights in room 408. Fairly large room, large windows that open.Good size Bathroom. Bed was comfortable but a little creaky. Spotless. Downside was room faced the street where a lot of construction is ongoing-noise starts at 7:00 AM and stops around 5:00 PM. Also at night there is a restaurant directly across the street where there is... More

We arrived to the street blocked off due to construction so we had trouble finding it. However, once we walked inside we were warmly greeted and offered champagne! I ran in the marathon and right away they offered to prepared an early breakfast for me. They offered countless tips about what to do and where to eat. Plus the breakfast... More

When we arrived at this hotel we were somewhat taken aback by the torn up street directly outside it's doors. I can assure you, however that the service and ambiance that you experience during you stay will erase any concerns. The door man greeted us and immediately took our luggage and escorted us to to front desk where he took... More

Just got back from 6 great nights in Montreal. We stayed in this lovely little hotel, and we thought the rooms were beautiful, the bed comfortable and location fantastic for what we were looking for, but truly the service made our trip! There was absolutely no request that Anne-Marie and her team found too troublesome. We did not have a... More

Finding this hotel was troublesome as streets around are being closed, blocked off or subject to diversions. There was work going on everywhere. Thank goodness we persevered as inside is peaceful, calm and welcoming. Our room was spacious (no view to talk of) and well furnished. Staff are courteous and very helpful - this was especially good as we could... More

Probably one of the best hotel we have stayed at in all of our travels. The staff was most helpful and was very informative about all that Montreal had to offer. Room was very well appointed and spacious. The Bonaparte restaurant next door was an added plus as it was probably the best restaurant we frequented during our travels through... More

This was a wonderful dining experience from seating to dessert! We were sat in a cozy window, quiet and comfy. The menu and meal was first rate, service spot on...taking our time not rushed and savoring each bite and sip of wine. We are staying here and breakfast is included. Several, choices on the menu, all cooked to order. Again seated... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
