This is a fun little hotel that’s perfect for a long weekend. Location is right along the river. Rooms at the front of the hotel have views of the river and rooms at the back of the hotel look over a cobblestone street that is closed to traffic and has tons of restaurants and shops. Either way you have a... More

Great hotel, great location ... be patient with the elevator !! A lot of good restaurantes nearby, and it is in the heart of Old Montreal It is better to be in the rooms with view to the river .. the rooms on Rue St-Paul are a little noisy on weekends

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a delightful time. The room was nice. The view was terrible! I guess the reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5 is because when we got there we asked about the free breakfast and they said that because we hadn't booked directly with them and had booked with booking.com... An old warehouse well converted into a simple, well looked after hotel. Overlooking the river, (and the occasionally noisy single track freight railway), a busy, loud bar/restaurant with outside tables as well. Very good staff, (especially for somewhere with the reputation of Quebec) notably the concierge.

Lovely rooms, no bathtub, worn out lobby. Nice people working there, though. The view is ok from the rooftop...industrial, not romantic. This is not a great place for walking with a cane or wheelchair. Lots of horses pass by, so it sometimes gets funky outside.

Stayed here for a romantic anniversary weekend in July 2016. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was huge and the rain shower was a treat. The location was perfect, walking distance to most attractions. The breakfast / brunch (included) at the attached restaurant was fantastic and so generous that we usually skipped lunch. There were a few... More

We stayed in their loft apartments just around the corner from the main hotel. We were on Saint Paul St. over the Vieux Port Steakhouse. Beautiful studio apt. with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Only downside it was extremely noisy from street all thru day and late in the night.

Good location in Old Montreal, short walk to Metro stop. Our room, while small, was attractive and very clean with a comfortable bed and nice amenities. The bathroom had an nice shower, very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was included in our rate and the food and choices were excellent. The hotel and restaurant... More

This hotel is amazing - perfect for couples looking for a romantic week or weekend! We booked a river front room and the view was wonderful. Bed was extremely comfy, and the room was beautiful with exposed stone walls and very high ceilings. We had complimentary breakfast each morning at the restaurant next door, and WOW!! The food was delicious.... More

Recently visited this excellent small hotel in the Old Town area of Montreal. Lovely accommodations, helpful service, good food in the on-site restaurant. One small matter: the addition of grab bars in shower would be helpful. Would definitely recommend, and would stay there again.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.

A symbol of Old Montreal's rich history, Auberge du Vieux-Port is the area's only hotel settled along the Saint Lawrence River. The two structures that house its 45 rooms are over a century and a half old and once operated as warehouses, back when the waterway still forged city's life vein. With a classic, skillfully crafted make up, the idyllic inn's decor and architecture breathe an air of authenticity.
