Traveled from Toronto for a 2 night stay a Le Petit Hotel for a birthday long weekend celebration. This is a great hotel located right in Old Montreal. Walking distance to many restaurants, galleries, the old port, and many tourist attractions. We stayed in a 'petite' room and it was just that but perfectly fine for what we needed. The...

We loved our stay at Le Petit Hotel. Our room was quiet, spacious and comfortable, the location was great, and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. We loved starting our days in Montreal with the croissants and espresso included in our stay. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Vieux Montreal, we will definitely book a room...

My wife and I reserved a medium room on a non-holiday weekend through Hotels.com (obviously). The room was great! Spacious, clean, and full of character (as seen in the photos). When we checked-in and entered our room they surprised us with a nice hand written card and two cupcakes for us to enjoy. Well done ! The staff are extremely...

First time visit to Montreal and Le Petit and it was perfect. Everyone who works there is so helpful and kind. They even took extra time to help my daughter improve her French. Our room was the perfect size and the bed amazingly comfortable. I had read other reviews about the lack of a full breakfast- actually I thought it...

This hotel was in a great location in old Montreal. We were within walking distance to the Notre-Dame Basilica, restaurants and boutique shopping. The room was clean, up-dated and spacious enough for two. The beds were comfortable and there did not seem to be an issue with noise - our room looked into the alley. Montreal bagels were part of...

It felt as though we were in a Paris boutique complete with stone walls and beam ceilings ❤️The room was delux - comfy bed and bedding and thoughtful details including an excellent selection of glasses. Staff were helpful professionals who have obviously been taught well and are proud of where they work and their city. Breakfast was buffet continental but...

Loved staying at Le petit. The service was truly great - they were always polite and offering to help. They made tour reservations, dinner reservations, had bikes for our use and special coffees. Perfect small breakfast. We also received an upgraded room and that size was perfect for 2. Would definitely stay again!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
