Amazing location (keep a clear eye out for the door though, it shares an entrance with the restaurant beside it), perfect bedrooms, a good number of bathrooms, has a sitting room, kitchen, and laundry facilities! I accidentally arrived late, after the check-in time, but they still had prepared everything for me and had a cool self-check-in system, they thought of... More

This hostel is basic, but good. There is a common room, and a kitchen. The breakfast is simple, but free, and includes everything you would need. I stayed here in the winter, probably not the most popular time but it was quiet in the hostel. It is located in the back of a Chinese restaurant which is a little odd... More

I have been visiting Montreal several times in the past few years and I always come back to this cool hostel. It's very well located, the staff is friendly, the place is clean, beds are comfy, showers always have hot water, the free breakfast is from 6am to noon, wifi works great everywhere and very important, the stay is CHEAP!... Clean Hostel. Basic but good. Close to the subway and a short ride from downtown. next door to Concordia U and a few blocks from the art museum and Mont Royal. All around a well run hostel, a good value, and a good experience.

Met interesting people of all ages and different countries. Bed rooms, bathrooms kitchen and common spaces are kept clean. The stairs connecting the three levels are narrow and steep; and there isn't an elevator. I liked the "small" size of hostel; which made it feel very "homey".

Situated in the core of the city you'll find plenty of activities and also charming people to visit the city with. The breakfast is good and you can find some supermarkets quite near to fill the fridge. The kitchen will make you fill like home. Everything is very clean and ready for you to enjoy a short or longer holiday.

At an affordable price, the rooms were comfy, the showers hot and powerful, lots of storage space, cooking facilities, WIFI and TV room, mostly helpful staff. So very homey. Suitable for long or short stay. Don't be fooled by the building and the entrance. This book is so much more than it's cover!

It's the cheapest hostel in town and it has more than some other places. A locker for everyone with enough space for big bags, free breakfast every morning and you can cook your own meal very easily. It's also downtown Montreal so you have everything close. The wifi is free here and you also can plug your european devices. If... More

This hostel has a lot of qualities: clean, goood kitchen, breakfast included, good location, good deal, space for your stuff, efficient wifi and computer. Unfortunately the beds are of the most uncomfortable kind for me, much much too hard, the hardest that exist, and I think hostels are more and more buying those mattresses because they last more. That may... More

Dear guest, Thanks for noticing our qualities even if you had issues with our hostel :) In regards to out mattresses, they are indeed the firm type for support reasons. I myself can sleep on them fine but I understand that this may not appeal to all. We do offer a pillowtop when guests require; this could be an option... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Auberge Apéro, a European-style hostel in North America’s most European city, Montréal. Apéro is the French word for aperitif – the beginning of a great meal or in this case – a great vacation. With only 12 beds, we offer a cozy, personalized atmosphere on two floors of an old 1880s graystone with all the amenities you expect from a hostel, and many that you don’t. The rooms are bright with hardwood floors and some interior brick walls that add an air of coziness to the Auberge. The second floor contains the reception area, the store, common rooms, and the laundry. ... more   less
