Le Mount Stephen hotel garners acclaim for its seamless fusion of historic elegance and cutting-edge facilities. Nestled in a prime location, guests have easy access to local attractions, with many praising the tranquil, noise-free environment. The rooms are lauded for being spotlessly clean and comfortably modern, despite some quirky tech features.
While the hotel's vibrant bar and luxurious atmosphere receive high marks, the premium experience does come with a steep price tag and parking woes, as some guests point out. Nonetheless, the exceptional service and attention to detail often leave visitors feeling it's well worth the splurge.

The combination of an old manoir with a modern hotel is fascinating. It is very comfortable and the service is very professional. One of the toppers of the hotel is bar George, a must have been and seen. The restaurant serves very good food in a majestic and classy interior.

This is a very well located hotel in downtown Montreal. Walking distance or easy travel to most areas of interest. Many bars, restaurants, etc. within 2-3 minutes walk. We had a junior suite, very modern if somewhat cold. A decorative item on the dining table would have made it more welcoming. The closets are tiny, made worse by a cupboard in the middle with a couple of drawers and the room safe. The valet was unable to fit an almost empty hanging bag. When I unpacked my hanging bag I constantly hit the hooks on a attachment on the closet door that held shoe horn, etc. I eventually placed a towel, over the hooks to prevent further bruising to my arm. The toilet is very cool but the constant noise of the opening and closing of the lid became annoying. We put a black card over the motion detector, which solved the issue. Loved the hot seat tho! The main reasons for staying in a hotel is to sleep and you will sleep very well here. Comfortable beds and linens, extremely quiet, never heard doors banging, people upstairs, or any other noises. For that alone, this hotel is highly recommended. A few adjustments to the rooms themselves and I would give a 5+ rating. Hotel staff were very helpful despite the stresses and challenges of dealing with Covid. I would happily return.

This was our fist stay at Mount Stephen and we were extremely impressed! The combination of the charming old mansion housing the beautiful Bar George with the modern building housing the stunning lobby and guest rooms make this an outstanding property. Design and furnishings exhibit great style and attention to detail, bathrooms are truly luxurious, and cleanliness which is most important now is thorough. But as always it is the staff that makes the ultimate difference and each employee we encountered went out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and dedicated to our comfort. Being located in loveliest neihbourhood of Montreal is definitely an added bonus. We will see you again soon Mount Stephen! Thank you !

Just had a three night stay at Le Mount Stephen and wanted to share what a fantastic hotel this is! The building is so cool, the location is ideal, and the rooms are updated and even futuristic with all of the impressive technology in them. The family especially loved the multi-coloured lighting in the luxurious bathroom and rain shower!
Room Service breakfast was wonderful, and overall the dishes at both breakfast and lunch on the patio were beautifully plated as well as delicious!
Alex at the front desk and Hazel in housekeeping made us feel very welcome and special. Go to this place if you like stunning rooms, fabulous food and beverage and warm and thoughtful staff!

Fantastic hotel, with fantastic service. I really enjoyed all the automatic controls for lighting, curtains, blinds, and even the toilet. The all-in-one Toto toilet and rain shower really contribute to the comfort. There wasn't a bath in my room, but I guess these days that's less in demand. The room service is fantastic. Snacks and minibar items are pricey (as is the attached Restaurant Bar George). The only thing that could be fixed in my room was the handheld showerhead is on its way to retirement (and has no pressure options), and the overhead recessed rain shower can use some cleaning so that individual nozzles didn't spray in weird directions, or some didn't work.

+1
It was wonderful, the people whom worked there were very kind including at the bar joined restaurant downstairs., I didn’t need access to the parking till the final day of my stay to which I learned the parking goes directly from the elevator which goes to every level floor. So you can just go directly to your room after parking your vehicle if you have one upon your stay which I thought was very nice .., i loved that this hotel location was with in walking distance from all the shopping and restaurants especially since i was there visiting my friend who lives there . It’s perfectly located in a way of convenience. It being a very lovely place just was a bonus :)

My husband & I stayed at Le Mount Stephen February 15 as a Valentine's getaway. Every member of the team was top notch. Very professional and friendly. Our room was beautiful & equipped with what we refer to as a "disco shower" LOL. Which means, ambient lighting at the touch of your hands. Huge shower! We spent the first 1/2 hour of our stay getting acquainted with and marvelling at the high tech amenities. I never knew how much I could appreciate a heated toilet seat! There are crazy comfortable robes in the closet as well as slippers so check out the closet if you need slippers and robes during your stay. The coffee maker was a Nespresso machine - what a treat. There were 3 capsules to choose from - all delicious. There was a mini bar as well, if you're so inclined. I had a KITKAT. :) There is also a kettle for tea. Everything about our sleep was perfect from the bed to the pillows and the comforter. The room was very quiet as well.
We brunched at Bar George the next morning which was just as wonderful AND delicious. I had the avocado toast and have added their recipe to my own avocado toast routine since. The hubs had the American breakfast and was sufficiently full and satisfied when he was done! Very fairly priced as well.
In a nutshell, from the moment you arrive at the beautiful and historic Le Mount Stephen, to the moment you leave, you can count on nothing but quiet comfort in a most beautiful setting, with service that guarantees a worry-free sojourn.

We have been back to this property now for the fourth time. Each time we think its a perfect stay, yet our next visit is better!
The new manager Massimo is a most gracious host and his staff will stop at nothing to make us feel like they are there just for us.
The rooms are fantastic. Really great modern room features put this hotel in a special class of its own, and as a relatively small property there remains a quaint feel.
Bar George is always hopping and the food is awesome.
Mount Stephen is absolutely one of our faves!

On April 23rd, a friend and I had booked a girls' staycation at Le Mount Stephen. I'm a big fan of their restaurant, Bar George, so I was excited to spend some time at the hotel.
Check in was great and we had a great evening, but unfortunately, at 3:03am, we were woken up by a man unlocking the room with a key card and walking in. We yelled out that someone was in the room; the man sounded surprised and left.
We immediately called down to ask why someone had entered our room, and were told not to worry, that it was a security guard checking lights (what??). I replied saying it was terrifying and that we are obviously very worried. We did not sleep the rest of the night.
The next morning, the man at the front desk was very nice and was already aware of the situation. He acknowledged how scary that must have been, unlike the staff member we had spoken to at 3am. However, we were now being told that the security guard was in our room to grab towels (again, what??) for another guest. He told us someone from hotel management would be in touch the next day.
We had to wait a few more days to hear anything from hotel management, Genevieve, who only called one of us, to offer us a discount on our next stay. A disappointing resolution in my opinion.
Safe to say we will definitely not be returning when there are security guards entering rooms for all sorts of reasons in the middle of the night. As two girls staying alone in a five star hotel, you're expected to be safe and feel pampered, but this felt like a complete violation of safety and privacy. If you do choose to visit this hotel, I would definitely recommend latching the deadbolt on!

Very friendly staff, perfect location to enjoy downtown Montreal and it's high end shopping. Ultra confortable bed and awesome bathroom however the bath tub is highly uncomfortable, it has the shape of a box and the toiletries amenities are not to the standard of a 5 stars hotel. Improvement on the soap and moisturizing cream is really needed. The lighting in the room is entirely dell lights which make the ambience icy cold, thank god they are dimmable. Strangely no iron in the room. Great automation of curtains, lights and temperature. Very cool restaurant.
