As the old adage goes, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. To be fair, the gentleman that checked us in was fantastic. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean with an amazing view overlooking the Olympic Village. The bartender/waiter Eric was phenomenal. In the morning, though, everything changed. There were two men in the parking lot that were shady, looking in car windows and taking pictures of license plates and when we reported it to the front desk, the girl we dealt with was snotty (for lack of a better adjective) and could not care less of our concerns. That left a bad taste with us, and will likely bring us to choose another establishment to stay at the next time we visit the area.

Dear Geminis53168, Thank you for taking the time to write and post your review following your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Longueuil. Your comments and feedback are very important to us, and we regularly share them with our management and staff. It is through your comments and feedback that we can continually find ways to improve and better serve you. Please know that the safety and security of our guests is of the utmost importance to us. While the behavior of the individuals you mentioned does sounds odd or suspicious, there may have been a simple explanation. However, the agent should have reported this to the supervisor and put you at ease. I apologize if you felt it was not taken as seriously at it should have been. I will make sure we handle this type of situation differently in the future. Thank you for your kind words regarding our staff and their service. I will commend them for taking good care of our guests. We appreciate your patronage. Antonio D'Alesio GM - Holiday Inn Longueuil

Great hotel in a great location if you don't need to see Montreal, but the countryside. Has a huge internal covered yard. Clean. Free wi-fi. Ample parking in the back, but I nearly always managed to find a spot in the front. Staff very helpful. The only thing I was surprised at was that even though all the signs said no noise after 22:00, on a Saturday of my stay, there was some kind of a concert on the ground floor, so, because of the internal yard, the loud sounds would travel all the way up and reach me even on the fourth floor. The "concert" or whatever it was was over closer to 00:30. Glad I didn't have to get up early next day!

Dear Belle_etrangere, Thank you for posting a review following your recent stay with us. Your feedback is appreciated and important. I am glad you enjoyed our services and hotel features. During this period of the year we have banquet events and office parties taking place in our meeting rooms, as well a New Year’s Eve dinner and dance. While these may be important to our business and a significant source of revenue during this time of year, they should not interfere with our individual guests who had intended on having a restful stay. We try do our best to inform our guests upon reservation and upon arrival, as well as accommodate our individual travelers on higher floors. Our banquet rooms and main dining room are located on the lobby level, and while our Atrium is one of our most appreciated features its ‘open’ configuration allows sound to travel quite easily. Thank you for staying with us, we hope to welcome you back again soon. Antonio D'Alesio GM - Holiday Inn Longueuil

Stay away. They hire security to harass the kids AND parents. Very confrontational. This is a hotel that is recommended by the tournament for hockey teams. IMO they are NOT Hockey or group friendly. They force you to keep your equipment in the car but signs in the lot tell you they're not responsible for stolen equipment. Which way do they want it??? I've never had anyone question what I was bringing to my room but they have it WRITTEN in their policy. Very low quality for the rate of $170 after tax.

Dear M Murphy, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. Please know that your feedback is valuable to us and that we often use it to make changes to our brand to improve. We are sorry that you did not have a better experience and felt the need to voice your concerns. There were six hockey teams in the hotel during your visit, as well as some individual travelers. We have a responsibility to offer all of our guests a quiet environment and a restful night of sleep. The lobby is a large open atrium and unfortunately noise and sound can travel quite easily. Several guests were seen consuming their own alcohol in the public areas which places us in danger of losing our liquor license. There were noise complaints from other guests including other teams who wanted their children to get the sleep needed for the following days activities. Cordially, Antonio D'Alesio GM - Holiday Inn Longueuil

This hotel sends out security guards at night to send you to your room. I witnessed a group of hockey kids (not in our group) who were quietly talking in the lobby and were told they were not allowed to sit there. A small group of parents who were sitting waiting for a pizza to arrive were also told to go back to their rooms even though it was only 10pm. I was about to go to their newly renovated bar but did not want to get hassled. It also closed early every night. I went to the front desk and witnessed a guest trying to check in and the attendant was bashing the previous attendants for making the computer slow, when they were actually lovely. The following night a party was held beside the lobby and they were allowed to make all kinds of noise. They are not very hospitable to people bringing in hockey tournament business. Also bring in your luggage through the back door so you don’t get your luggage searched by the staff for mini sticks. Also you must leave your expensive sticks in the car. They are not allowed in the hotel.

At 10:30pm we ask our all of our guests to retire to one of their many team guestrooms or the team hospitality suite if they have one. We do not believe this to be unreasonable. It is unfortunate that you had a negative experience with us, and for this we apologize. Antonio D'Alesio GM - Holiday Inn Longueuil

One of the parents on my team actually had their bag looked through.Hey If you don’t want the hockey teams on the weekend... don’t take them at all. My experience was that all the parents were quiet and nothing going on. Nothing exceptional at all. But still got harassed. I get it if people were being loud... but this is a hotel not a penitentiary. And then the next night they have a loud wedding down below and it resonates all through the centre of the hotel.

Dear Botchko, We are sorry that you did not have a better experience and felt the need to voice your concerns on several platforms. There were six hockey teams in the hotel during your visit, as well as some individual travelers. We have a responsibility to offer all of our guests a quiet environment and a restful nights sleep. We had warned children and parents repeatedly that no mini-hockey sticks were allowed, and then had to intervene on several guest floors when this was ignored. At 10:30pm we ask our all of our guests to retire to one of their many guestrooms or the teams hospitality suite if they have one. We do not believe this to be unreasonable.
