Read the reviews, had stayed at another bnb in PEI, and was super excited to try this place. The room was great, exceptionally clean, and location was perfect. The disappointment came in the morning for breakfast. Regular yogurt served in a glass, a single egg scrambled, pale sausages, slice of cantaloupe, and toasted, dry English muffins. Nothing was homemade. The coffee was luke warm and awful, the jams were the packages you get at a diner, and the three i opened were all dried out, hard, and unspreadable. I would never serve food like this in my own home to anyone! There was nothing special or memorable about the food except that it was very underwhelming and downright poor quality. It was mostly packaged and processed foods served up... and dried up jam packages?? There was one young lady serving and cooking(?) that morning. She was nice and sweet enough but was obviously not qualified or suited for the job of entertaining and serving. It seemed very odd and unprofessional that she was wearing a long heavy coat the whole time while serving; dirty dishes were left on the tables when there were guests looking for a place to sit. Nobody in that dining room looked impressed that morning. Its under my impression that when people book bed and breakfast places, its generally expected that there will be a delicious homemade breakfast waiting for them- not a breakfast an 8 year old kid would make for his mom on mothers day. This place was a major disappointment in the breakfast department. Might as well stay someplace cheaper and get a better breakfast out on your own.

Colonial Charm Inn was the last place we stayed on our Nova Scotia/PEI vacation. Saving the best for last clearly applies here. Our room was lovely and comfortable, beautifully decorated in period style. Shelley, the innkeeper, is simply awesome. She does everything possible to make your stay enjoyable from carrying your luggage upstairs to giving wonderful recommendations for restaurants and things to do. I will be dreaming of her breakfasts for a long time - especially the blueberry pancakes and candied bacon! We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We had a jam packed schedule and if we go back I will schedule some porch sitting time. Loved visiting with Shelley and family and other guests.

We had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at the Colonial Charm Inn. We particularly appreciated the Innkeeper, Holly, providing great places to visit as well as outstanding restaurants in Charlottetown. Holly is vivacious and very friendly. The upstairs room was very clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts were excellent with the pancakes being the best! Again, this Inn is in a great location to explore Charlottetown and other nearby attractions on Prince Edward Island, Canada.

We had a very nice stay at Colonial Charm Inn in Charlottetown, PEI. Not only is it in the historic district and an easy walk to Victoria Row, restaurants, etc.; you get the added benefit of at-home comfort, a big ole' porch for relaxing and watching the world go by, and the expertise and hospitality of folks like owner Shelley, who was not only professional, but also down-home friendly to a couple of Yanks in PEI for the first time. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade baked goodies. Thanks for a nice stay. Wish it hadn't been quite as hot, but, hey, who can do much about the weather?

My husband and I recently stayed at the colonial charm inn, to say this was the best experience we could have wished for is an understatement! Shelley goes above and beyond to ensure your time on the island is everything you could imagine! The breakfast is phenomenal (especially the scones) - every morning and Shelley makes sure if you have any questions or reccomendations they are answered, multiple maps and brochures are offered! The rooms are beautiful and stay true to the heritage and charm of the history of the house! If we could give this more then 5 stars we would! Thank you so much Shelley for your incredible hospitality!
