The 3rd floor suite was perfect, with a sitting room and one bedroom for my wife and I and another for our granddaughter. The location is great and Sharyn is a generous host who knows Charlottetown inside out.

My parents, sister and I stayed at the Duchess of Kent Inn in early October and were so happy to have had such a wonderful experience. Sharyn is an exceptional host! It was my Dad's first experience staying at a B&B and he, and the rest of us, enjoyed it very much. Sharyn made us feel at home immediately and was prepared with all sorts of recommendations, tips, maps and treats (Dad very much enjoyed the hot chocolate!). We stayed in the three bedroom family turret suite on the second floor and found it to be very pretty and most comfortable. The Inn is located in a great spot, within walking distance of many of Charlottetown's attractions. We opted for the breakfast service, and Sharyn spent both mornings visiting with us and making us feel even more at home. We ate out one night and then took advantage of the shared kitchen (a very nice option to have) to cook our own dinner on the second night. Since staying there, we have recommended Sharyn and her Inn to many others, and will continue to do so!

From the booking to departure, Sharyn made our stay exceptional. She sent a few tourist links prior to our visit for which we were very grateful as prebooking some of the shows was necessary. Sharyn has a lovely home which had all the amenities of a new hotel but the character of a well kept 1875 home. Sharyn is a wealth of information about her community and her province and happily shared her knowledge. The location is excellent. We stayed two nights and walked everywhere. Breakfast was worth considerably more than the price charged. Free parking is included. Sharyn even packed my 82 year old Mom's luggage up to the turret suite. Above and beyond! Sharyn, we have spoken highly of you and your home, recommending it as a definite PEI stay! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

The Duchess of Kent Inn was built in 1875, The Inn was in the old section of Charlottetown, where there was a lot going on in Aug. a huge parade, singing in the streets outside of small bars, music by the river, all within walking distance. Most of all, our trip would not of been as remembered and enjoyable if it was not for Sharyn the Inn Keeper. She was a wealth of information on where to go and what to see.

We had the turret room for two nights and felt like we could have moved in! Sharon had great suggestions for us, called around to find out times and pricing, and answered every question we had about the island. When we arrived she had personalized ideas and a hand written map. We choose to buy the breakfast and it was a great way to start our day - filling up and chatting about our plans with Sharyn. The turret room was lovely, and reasonably priced for a whole top floor. We loved it!

I’d never stayed at a B&B before, but right from booking Sharyn was amazing. When I arrived she was waiting on the porch for me. From our 1 phone call and few emails she gathered an information package for along with some extras for me. I stayed in the 1st flour suite. It was perfect as I was traveling alone. The room was clean and decorated to style of the house. The sitting room was a great place to unwind after busy days. Every morning over breakfast we’d talk about everything I did and saw the day before and set out that days activities and the best way to get there. Sh truly made me vacation happen. The next time I’m in PEI, I know where I’m staying: The Dutchess of Kent Inn!

Unfortunately we stayed there only for one night, but this house, its rooms and its landlord are very special. We loved the furniture and our host. Thank you Sharyn for being warmhearted, helpful and making our trip special with your hand-written maps of Charlottetown and the Prince Edward Island!

Our stay with Sharyn made our holiday in P.E.I very special. She could NOT have been more helpful in giving us the advise & suggestions we needed. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable . Antique & Contemporary furnishings appreciated. Access to kitchen facilities appreciated, Breastfasts healthy, fresh fruit always on menu. Safe storage of bikes and easy parking was an added bonus for us. Arrived as strangers, left as friends.

Rotted wood under outside window, (picture on web-sites of house is very old). Billed us for 1 night 3 wks (Visa) before our stay (don't remember agreeing to this) price confirmed at $135, billed for 2 other nights at $145 (our stay was 3 nights, Sharyn was going to rebill for 3 nights at $145, Sharyn admitted her error removed 1 charge of $145) Sharyn seemed confused so we let it go (and paid for 2 at $145 even though we had an e-mail confirming $135). Our parking accommodation was under a large tree next to the house, while Sharyn's relatives who were in from Ontario were parked in the back. By the time we left the car was full of bird poop and feathers, we went directly to a car wash when we left the B & B to have it cleaned. No hot water for shower on 2nd night. Some electrical outlets weren't working. No Breakfast was included in price, even though this was a Bed & Breakfast??? more..... Even though Sharyn was very helpful, this B & B definitely needs some sprucing up. Sorry, won't be back Dissatisfied
