We spent our first night in Toronto in this Hotel.
We had a great experience. Quite, clean, well equipped, amazing staff. For breakfast you have Denny's and a lot of shops nearby if you need anything.

The hotel has a shuttle between the airport and the hotel. From the hotel, you could take a taxi to downtown. Or, as previous writers suggest....take the UPX to Union Station. From there, you can take underground lines, or buses, or streetcars to get around the heart of the city and, in some cases, reach other points of the city.
