Despite some sub-par reviews here recently, I booked a night at the Delta anyway (needed some Bonvoy points before year-end). I experienced NONE of what others have complained about. I was on the Club level and it was a really nice experience. There was always at minimum 2 attendants. An honor bar with beer & wine along with good coffee, pop, sparkling water, etc. Snacks included shrimp dumplings, finger sandwiches piled high, cheese & fruit plates, etc. Far from a spartan spread and no problem if you wanted to take it back to your room. My room was city-view so I enjoyed the windows out on the lake when I was in there. Gym & pool are on the 4th floor and they are both equipped well and kept neat & clean. Valet parking was effecient both at check-in & check-out. You wait just a bit for an elevator to the top floors, but it didn't seem any longer than folks were waiting for the lower-floor elevators. Water pressure was great with plenty of hot water and my room had both a tub and shower stall. Super-comfy king bed. Very quiet and peaceful. My only suggestion would be to replace the single-ply toilet paper with double-ply. Otherwise, this stay exceeded my expectations and I'll re-book for sure!

Just checked into Delta Hotel Marriott Toronto. We had wonderful arrival from Vincent at the front desk and Sofia at valet. Both so very helpful as we were not sure of where to park our car. Great service with smiles and kindness. Beautiful room and super fast check in. First visit to Toronto, so glad we picked this hotel, it has such a great location!

Big hotel, close to downtown. I had a high-story room with a great view. The room was a classic Marriott lay out, but modern, clean and well appointed If you don’t have much luggage it’s an easy to use the skywalk from Union Station. You enter on the first floor from the skyway and need to take the elevator down to reception By far the best welcome I have ever had by A Marriott hotel! I wasn’t overly impressed with the club lounge - other than the service

Great stay! Every room has great views and plenty of convention space for my company’s kickoff. Rooms are modern with large floor to ceiling windows. Great location. Easy walk to the lake and shopping. The staff is super helpful and requested a special laundry pick up for me. The only negative was the elevators to the upper floors were down and getting to and from my room was difficult. Assuming this was just a temporary instance. I would definitely stay here again.

Location for our needs excellent. Rooms and service brought it down to average. Valet not apparent when we got to the hotel after 10:30 pm. We were tired and not happy about schlepping our luggage from the parking lot and apparently entering at the wrong door. The reserved harbor view king bed was not available but we were not told that. Instead we were offered an "upgrade" to Junior Suite. When we arrived to it and realized it was city view we called to switch to harbor view and were told there were none. So, some time later, we were provided a 2 queen harbor view. Both rooms have very tired dirty sofas and seatings. Staff checking us in not welcoming but all the elevator guests were quite sympathetic towards us as they spied our luggage. Shower had good water pressure. Layout odd with just a frosted bathroom door and could see silhouettes of those needing use of the toilet. In the transition it was apparently loss that we desired housekeeping each day. Ran out of tissues and the staff member walked in on me! He said he knocked- which I heard a faint knock- and had no time to investigate it before he barged on in. He apologized and said he knocked and I remembered to dead bolt from there on out. The day we did have housekeeping the tea was not replaced, so another call down. No help with marathon closures. We were concerned we would not be able to get out in the morning. Staff recommended we google it. So we did and spent a fair amount of time, but had troubles making heads or tails out of. Thankfully no such problem occurred but wow we spent some time trying to figure it out! No asking of how our stay was on check out/request for receipt. Seemed happy that room 4011 were on their way :)

When you book a city centre hotel and pay city centre prices, you expect city centre experience. This hotel really lacks what is expected and needed for a hotel that attracts tourist who are transitioning through the city. When you arrive after a flight from the U.K. and you just want to have a beer and relax. We booked this hotel to experience the roof top bar, and the city lights of Toronto, but on arrival you are informed it closed at 10pm and even at 10.10pm, they make no exceptions!! Even the team who work there and tell you this is the rules are unsure of why. We are post covid, we are all hearing how hard it is to make money, yet the senior management team decide 10pm on a Saturday is time to close the bars??? I believe if you are charging city centre prices, you need to act and behave like a city centre hotel. We have visited Toronto numerous times, love the city and people. The guys informing us of the “rules” were very polite and understanding and this review is not aimed at them, just the short sighted managers who make these decisions. Well it’s back to the Fairmont for me, I pay top dollar but they give me what I need from a city centre hotel. We even had a local homeless guy doing press ups and dancing in the foyer for 20 mins, but not asked to leave or even noticed…..

Response from Delta Toronto, Guest Services / Front Office at Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto
Responded Sep 18, 2022
Dear Mr. Candlish, Thank you for staying at the Delta Toronto and for sharing feedback with us of your recent experience at our hotel. We are disappointed to hear that we did not exceed your expectations during your recent visit. As our valued guest, we understand how important the access to hotel amenities are to a satisfactory stay. Therefore, on behalf of the team at the Delta Toronto, we apologize that we did not meet the expectations and have caused disappointments and frustrations. We have multiple residential buildings close to the hotel, with roof being open after 10 pm would cause a lot of noise complaints from the buildings close by as well as the rooms that are close to the roof. Due to some legislations, we have to close roof at 10 pm that is why unfortunately when you went to the roof after 10 pm, they couldn't serve you. Mr. Candlish, given the nature of our business, we feel that what sets a good hotel apart is the manner in which it reacts to their mistakes. As a means of demonstrating our sincerity and interest in you as our valued guest, I invite you to contact me any of our Front Office managers prior to your next visit so that we may personally ensure your stay is nothing short of exceptional. Once again, we offer our apologies and sincerely hope that you will allow us another opportunity to provide you with the service that you have every right to expect. Sincerely, Navdeep S.

We requested early check in as we came from Niagara on the lake. Checked in at 1.45 pm one person was on the check in desk after 8 minutes we were attended to. Got the passport details, credit card details , etc were told the room is not ready & that they will text me when it is. Came down at 2.50pm room wasn’t still not ready !!. We were asked to come back in 15 to 20minutes . By this time it was 3.0 pm & I asked her what is happening & told her I want my money back to check into Hilton & told her that I am not having it after being a member for over ten yrs. Then she produced a room for us on 26th floor. The hotel lift system operates as follows: three lifts from ground floor to 26th & another three from ground to 43rd floor. If you wish to come down from 43rd floor to 26th floor you either have to wait 20 minutes for a lift or take a lift to 27th floor and walk down the stairs as per the reception desk. The service from reception desk is nonexistent. The curtains covering two sides of the room requires ten minutes to draw & so in the bath & show room. The shower is hand held shower with poor pressure. All in all poor value at 900$ per night!!!. I will not recommend this poor value hotel at exorbitant price.

I stayed with my family to attend a concert at Scotiabank. Location, service and hotel were very nice. However, we paid alot of money for the family suites and we're very disappointed. The king bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The queen bed was a mattress on a wood board and the sofa bed was unacceptable to sleep on. The cushions were all ripped and the mattress was not comfortable at all and it was not standard size. We opted to leave after our concert instead of sleeping there.

We stayed at this property for two days and really had a great time. The location is great! The rooms are beautiful and they have walk in showers which I prefer. They have a beautiful roof top restaurant and bar with a great view of the city. The only negative thing is that the parking is a bit expensive but you do get unlimited in and out if you valet your car. Overall a great hotel in the Toronto downtown area.
