Nice room, very clean (the bathrooms as well), nice sky bar with a beautiful view of the city. Seem far from the water front, but can be walked in more or less 40 mins. Pretty central spot, with restaurants and bars really close from the hostel. I may eventually go back there if I come back to Toronto.

This hostel is the rolls-royce of the hostels! The rooftop terrace is absolutely awesome, the breakfast was good, and the rooms were nice. Fast wifi is a huge plus as well. If you are looking for a hostel in Toronto, don't look any further! For a small fee, you can also park your car more or less safe on private... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Planet Traveller. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. Although you are paying quite a bit for your stay Toronto accommodation is expensive anywhere you go and quite a lot is included in the price. You get a really great breakfast with a huge variety of different cereals and bagels, wifi that connects everywhere... More

Amazing hostel with such a cool and friendly staff, great location and always super clean. The rooftop it's just awesome. You can't get enough of chillin with people from all over the world that you've just met, having fun and drinks while enjoying one of the best Toronto skylines. Free breakfast and rice to cook are things to be considered... More

Really fantastic accommodation. With any decent hotel in the area running $200 a night, I don't mind sharing for $30 a night! The facility is very clean, the beds comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and of course meeting fellow travellers is always fun. A bonus is that they offer organized activities, a free BBQ once a week, and a... More

I had a long stopover in Toronto so I stayed only one night at the hostel. I really liked the details, like the personal light at the bed, the electric plugs within the lockers, the locker itself with key and enough space for your bags. The bathroom was a plus as well. The rooftop has an amazing view from downtown... More

Hostel is in a great location and staff are friendly. Breakfast consists of bagels, cereals and bananas. It would have been nice to have a bigger selection - maybe even offer some apples! Our room had air con, which was good. The ground floor where reception is located is really warm and sticky all the time - no windows ever... More

Loved my stay at Planet Traveller. Located a stone's throw away from Kensington Markets, it's perfectly situated and a great place. Loved spending time at the rooftop bar too! Awesome atmosphere, would recommend to any first time visitor to Toronto.

Planet Traveller has the friendly and cheerful atmosphere of a rural hostel, but it's located right in the heart of Toronto in a bustling and diverse area with lots of eating and drinking places nearby. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and gave a very good introductory tour of the hostel. The hostel kitchen is excellent, and the free... More

This is truly a great place to stay! I had stayed in other Toronto hostels before this one and none compare. As a traveller it seems that this hostel have really thought about everything wrong with other hostels! The free breakfast is served till 1pm, each bed has personal chargers and lights, the lockers are outside the room so not... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
