OK, so I definately booked this hostel with financial budget in mind.I intended to arrive, dump my bags and party till the early hours then crash. However, from the greyhound stop it was a good 45 minute walk (cab was asking $30!), but fairly easy to find. Really fun area of Toronto as it's the 'gay' scene with rainbows everywhere.Bit... More

My party originally picked this location due to mixed reviews. This should be your last review. The price seemed nice but that was about all that was good about this B&B. Our bedroom was dirty including; floors, shelves, blinds, walls, baseboards, etc. Old dishes were still present from the last occupants, I believe, and what looked to be an old... More

I was little hesitant to book my accomodation after reading the reviews about wellesley guest House , and was a little disappointed but decided to go for it anyway. My partner and I stayed there for over a week - so quite a long time! - and I have to say we had a great time. We stayed in the... More

Attacked by bedbugs the first night and the host living in the basement apartment said he had had no complaints. Host mentioned spraying. Spent the entire first night killing some 40 adult and nymphal bedbugs. The next morning I went to hardware store in the neighborhood and purchased an appropriate spray to bedbugs and left and the computer table for... More

Room was not bad. But not clean. One room's window was broken and owner didn't try to fix. Although they said accept credit card on the web site, they didn't accept.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
