We stayed here in September 2014. The apartment has a great location right across from a large park. Nice morning walks! Also next to the Botanical Gardens. We found the place very, very clean, well stocked for cooking, but also stocked with lots of food! What a surprise. The bed was very comfortable as well. The charges are extremely reasonable,... We stayed at the guesthouse for 3 nights in November 2012 and found it was exactly what we needed. I live in Toronto so I knew this was going to be a good location but didn't realize how good! Situated a 10-minute walk from Ossington Subway station, a 3-minute walk to Sobeys Grocery Store and 10 minutes from the LCBO... More

I stayed there alone for a week in August 2012 in the ground floor apartment. It was clean, had a full kitchen (sink, stove, refrigerator, coffee-maker, closets, dishes/glassware/silverware), fully adequate bath, working air-conditioned air pumping in, comfortable bed and a second bed/couch that I used to pile things on, some chairs, a TV. I requested a radio and it was... More

This place is in an older house and, despite some half-hearted attempts at modernization (such as a bathroom that has been half-painted), its age shows. The owner wants a $100 cash cleaning deposit and provides a list of how much she will deduct if your job falls short (for example, $30 withheld for not sweeping the kitchen floor); in spite... More

The place is a great find, Yana is charming and yes, the apts are not the ritz but you get good value for your money. It is clean and very cozy, i am renting out the queen suite and e bed is comfortable. It is in a great location close to everything, yes there is some wear and tear, but... More

Horrible place! Extremely dirty, tiny and the fridge is so loud that it makes you wake up in the middle of the night. the bathroom didnt even have a door - just a curtain and i could barely turn around! The gas stove creeped me out since the safety light went off and it suddenly smelled like gas in the... More

In addition, Yana was extremely helpful with tips on where to go and even bought a parking pass for us! I recommend that you stay there when in... More

This spot was the perfect fit for us. When my husband and I travel we like to find something with character, that feels like we're home, that's used a bit - making it cozy and quaint. When we arrived there was the smell of incense and music playing, windows open. It was so comforting that we had to take a... More

I've stayed here several times while visiting Toronto. Our hostess Yana, has always been most gracious and helpful. Good accommodations in an excellent location for a reasonable price. Close to downtown, subway/transit and restaurants. Comfortable, quaint rooms were exactly the home base we needed to come back to while doing business or at a weekend event.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
