We stayed for 2 months in Annex Guest House. The place reminded my university room, clean, TV, coffee maker, AC, microwave, all cleverly packed. A place to stay and sleep, not for dancing. Ideal for budget travelers.

We stayed there for 2 days, it was a very nice, clean place to stay in a neighborhood that is located in a perfect place to do a nice long walking tour of Chinatown, Koreatown, as well as the central downtown area. In particular they were incredibly helpful when I mistakenly entered the wrong dates when making my reservations and...

The "room" we had was clean, spotlessly clean, however the room was very small, just room to walk around double size bed, bathroom dark, alarm did not work on clock, stairs steep and long to room, entrance to subway a fair walk away, one of the smallest TVs we have ever seen.....we would personally not return to this guest house....husband...

I enjoyed my stay in Annex Quest House last Sept-October. If you are a solo traveler, it is a nice place to crash on especially when all you need is a place to sleep. It is clean, comfortable and helpful staff. But the room is lack of natural light so sometimes you have to turn on the light during the...

We stayed here for one night. The location is pretty good, close to the University of Toronto and tons of restaurants. We especially liked the style of this place, simple but with a lot of personality. Definitely a place to stay for yoga enthusiasts :) A downside was the breakfast, we were offered only granola bars that had milk in...

We enjoyed our stay at the Annex Quest. Room was spotless and quiet. Location was perfect, near transit and Downtown. Staff were extremely helpful. Would recommend for short stays in Toronto. Only complaint: bed was a bit hard.

I stayed there for the first time last month and loved it, so when planning a stay over the Victoria Day Weekend, I automatically chose to return. Both stays were enjoyable and the service was excellent. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful; and the Indian-themed decor of the rooms is tastefully done. The location is great:...

This is a simple, humble accommodation, not glamorous, but funky with Indian decor, including hammered copper sinks in bathrooms. Each room is decorated with an element in mind (water, fire, etc...). The location is outstanding, right by subway, and a brief walk to the R.O.M., U of T, OISE, Bata Shoe Museum, etc. with 'Fresh vegetarian restaurant' only a block...

This is a very basic place, but better. Convenient, and subway beside. Noisy city street, but not too bothersome. Limited parking in the rear for a fee. Small room, double bed, very comfortable, private small bath, good hot water. Microwave, small fridge and coffee maker in the room. Small spot of packaged snacks as you enter the place, but when...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.

“Get the best room on the top floor. Still a great price compared to a lot of hotels this close to town. Subway is 1.5 blocks away. Pay the higher price, and should appreciate it. Don't expect anything to look or feel new. But, it is clean, friendly, and inexpensive for the location.”
