After a long day of travelling we were relieved to arrive at the hotel. It's right by the Sherbourne Subway Station so it's a great place to easily get around on the subway. It's also only a 25 minute walk to the centre of Downtown (and that's if you're a slow walker like we are). The staff are nice and... More

Please do not waste your money, it was the nastiest place I've ever stayed in. Staff is rude, the place smells like old cheese, the rooms have an awful stench and stickiness about them, the whole time you feel like you're in jail. WARNING DONT. Throw up stains, black moldy dirt was also found by the bed, asked for money... More

In Toronto overnight to see a local band. We found the hotel easy enough off the DVP. There was no parking available in hotel lot, but were directed to a lot( same price $15 overnight) on Shelby street. Hotel lobby was clean and we were quickly checked in. Room (202) was small but comfortable enough. Initially room was very cold,... More

Easy to get to (get 192 airport rocket bus to Kipling station then get the subway train to Sherborne station turn left upon exit. Bus is $3.25 (around £1.80) you have to have exact change and the ticket you get allows you to travel on all transport for one journey eg not back and forth, so you can get to... More

We booked the hotel back in September 2015 to arrive at the end of December 2015. A 10 night stay in the hotel was very good. We did have an issue with our first room, but the staff were exceptional and upgraded us to another bigger room. The rooms have coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV and refrigerator.... We had a good stay in this hotel. It is in a good location, about 5 minutes from the subway station so it is easy to travel everywhere easily. The room was fairly small but we expected that due to the price we paid. The room looked recently decorated and was really clean. The bed was comfy and the shower... More

If you want a 5 star hotel, don't stay here. Not because there is anything wrong with it, but because they can't cater to every whim, and there is not a gym, a pool, a business center, a gift shop....you get the idea. What they do have is a convenient location, nice and comfy rooms, a good continental breakfast (toast,... More

For starters, the location of this place is amazing, metro station is right around the corner, makes it accesible by metro very easily and its great to go to toronto's main attractions. the bedroom is rather small but I traveled solo so for me it was great. They also have wifi and it works very good. the cons: There is... More

Just returned from one week stay Pros - it had a bed (fairly comfortable) Cons - room was tiny, very little space for cases, no wardrobe just a rail. Bathroom door was stupid, unable to shut properly or lock. Unnecessary fridge taking up space and a single dining chair. Very tired furnishings, the tv cabling was atrocious - just hanging... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
