Travelers' Choice
Since opening our doors in 2004, The Drake Hotel has kept them open 24/7/365 for locals and travellers alike, becoming a community hub for creatives that just happens to also be an award-winning 19-room hotel. Menus available for take-out, delivery and on our patios, are made entirely from scratch and showcase local ingredients and respect for quality in every dish. The Drake Hotel is also the home to the Drake Underground, one of the most celebrated and beloved small music venues in the city, and an eclectic and constantly changing program of performance and visual art, in addition to an ever-growing permanent art collection. The Underground, along with the Drake’s interior dining, is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions, but music and art lovers can get their fix digitally via The Drake’s multiple social media channels and blog. Open operations are raring to go with GOODCLEANFUN, The Drake’s health and safety practices upheld at every touch point throughout the Hotel through food and beverage safety practices, guest room housekeeping regimes, cleaning and sanitization standards, and increased use of contactless technology. An expansion of The Drake Hotel is currently underway next door, which will see 32 rooms added to the property, opening in 2021. Stayed the night at the drake with my partner to celebrate my new job. I was immediately greeted and given a stylish bag with hand sanitizer, mask and peripherals. We walked up to our room and took in the beautiful art on the walls. I was stopped in my tracks with unique and curated art - I remember stopping and soaking it all in. We walked into our Immaculately clean room and surprised with champagne! I never get excited about toiletries but it was my favourite part of my stay. Peppermint shampoo, cilantro conditioner, and bergamot body wash 😱🤩 highly recommend to anyone looking for a boutique and artistic experience.

We had heard about the espresso martini that is made at The Drake. Fantastic drink. Make sure you order one! Food was very good especially the buttermilk fried chicken. Outdoor patio has some nice covered spaces for when the weather is cool as it was the night we went. But one of the very notable things was the service. Our server provided top notch service which truly makes the experience memorable. Sorry I did not catch his name but he was simply the best. Well done.

Decided on a last minute staycation and The Drake couldn’t have been more perfect. Our room was amazing and the cleanliness is par excellence, felt so safe and well taken care of. The atmosphere and artwork was exceptional. As someone who works in the serving industry, I’m sometimes hesitant to dine out (especially in this new world) but service is as excellent as the food. Can’t wait to be back!

Everything exceeded our expectations throughout our stay. We had to stay at the hotel while our pad was undergoing repair, and in the end were reluctant to come back home!:) Before Drake, we tried 3 other places, and we were looking forward to move to Drake, but our expectations were not just met but surpassed big time. We were excited to see the artwork but didn't know that it SO organically belongs on these quirky walls, we heard a lot of good things about the service but we experienced a very warm, genuine and professional culture among all the departments and employees that is on any day better than a formal "service" by the book. And the food! Thankfully we can frequent the bar for more lobster rolls, burgers, pastries, drinks and all! I worked in hotel industry for quite a while and have seen too much of the back of the house, so naturally I've grown rather squeamish over the years, but nowhere in the Drake have I seen an overlooked corner (spotless housekeeping!) or a frustrated face. We will be back to stay, eat and one day - dance! With love, Taisiia and Sumant

ery impressed with our stay at the hotel and dinner at their restaurant (Sky Yard). Everything was super clean, including our room. They’ve reduced the amount of stuff in the room (the description online lists handmade dolls, etc.) and I imagine this is to reduce COVID transmission. Jon and Amy at the front desk were super helpful and accommodating (any requests were quickly taken care of). Dinner was pretty good. The cocktails are great! I watched the staff clean tables, chairs, etc after guests left, and was very impressed. The only negative was the street noise (our room looked out onto Queen St. I know this can’t be helped. Great view though!
