We had a lovely overnight in Toronto at Rose Garden B & B. Doug and Lisa are great hosts and very accommodating. We stayed in the King Room which is on the top floor. The room itself is very large, as is the bathroom (which has a shower not a tub). Being at the back of the house, the room...

Staying at this B&B is like staying at a friend's or sibling's home - they offer eggs as you like it, homemade yogurt and granola, bacon (Canadian, what else) and diced potatoes. But unlike staying at a friend's house, you may be relegated to your room. . We were told by our hosts that after hours we could get our...

A wonderful one night stay. Owners were very kind and helpful. Parking is a nice bonus. Breakfast was delicious. Room was small but had everything we needed. Would have liked a double but only had twin available. Loved the no outdoor shoes rule! Perfect stay.

We stayed 3 nights at Rose Garden. Doug & Lisa were wonderful hosts providing information and advice on the city and things to do. We found the location a bit far from the city centre although we did tackle the long walk in on several occasions. If you stay here make sure you visit Annapurna for Indian food just across...

I stayed for 3 Nights, the rooms are clean, tidy and very pleasant. The B&B is nicely away from the center of Toronto in a reasonably quiet neighborhood, but is within easy walking distance of the metro station. The welcome I received was wonderful, Doug and Lisa are lovely hosts who are happy to help in any way they can...

A friend and I stayed in the room with twin beds and an ensuite bathroom while attending a seminar at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Owners Doug and Lisa are gracious and friendly. Breakfast was filling and delicious: eggs anyway you choose, Canadian bacon, yogart, fresh fruit, cereal, croissants, coffee, tea and juice Everything was extremely clean and well maintained....

We stayed three nights and loved the experience. Lisa and Doug are charming hosts and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, eggs, Canadian bacon, fresh baked croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola. And we thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other guests, it was a wonderful experience. Stayed here for 2 nights in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom. The house was lovely, clean and comfortable with a quirky, zen kind of charm. Owners Doug and Lisa were gracious and hospitable, willing to go out of their way and wait for me when my train broke down and I had to check in late. They make...

Had a great stay over 2 weeks. It was truly a home away from home. The rooms were comfy and super clean. The organically based breakfasts were great, copious and I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Doug about the world's problems, his environmental projects and the philosophy of life. The prices are reasonable -- and I will definitely come back --...

The B&B was in a great location and within walking distance to attractions like the AGO, China Town and the ROM. The parking was also an added bonus, as it is only a few doors down. The room we stayed in was the double bed with a shared bathroom. In hindsight though, we really wish that the larger room had...

Thank you very much for your comments. These can help us improve. We will take steps to make the second floor rooms more sound proof, and try to be more conscious of kitchen noises. Sometimes I forget to mention that there are robes in the rooms for people to use in going to the bathroom, for example. Perhaps a small...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
