When traveling to Toronto or Montreal, I like to stay at a Le Germain hotel. This one, like others I've stayed at is a standout. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and the rooms are impeccable. Very modern hotel located in the heart of downtown. Just steps to the aquarium or Toronto's theatre district. Also, within walking distance of... More

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! My husband was in town for a conference and my 2-month old son and I came along. The hotel is stylishly designed and extremely baby friendly. Our room had a pack and play, diaper genie, baby monitor, and baby tub - I was so surprised, I had only briefly mentioned we'd... More

I usually stay at the Le Germain Maple Leaf and already knew the brand had high standards. I was blown away again at both the high level of service that is "unscripted" in its authenticity, unlike so many American chains. The rooms are wonderfully unique and exceed other hotels I've stayed at in SF and NY for 3x the price.... More

This hotel had it all. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. Their breakfast buffet had a nice selection of food ie: oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese, fruit etc. So much more than the usual juice and muffins most place offer. The rooms are spacious and modern. I was only 5 floors up and I couldn't hear a single... More

We booked 1 night to celebrate my husbands birthday. They upgraded us for free and left a birthday note and two chocolates. The staff and amenities were top notch. Very modern rooms. Very close to CN Tower and Aquarium. Couldn't have asked for a better nights stay. Breakfast was continental and the ladies running the continental breakfast were extremely attentive.... More

Very nicely decorated hotel, especially the lobby and guestrooms. Amazing showers. Only disappointment would be the limited and sad looking gym on the 11th floor. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Staff during breakfast were very nice and attentive. Bar is quiet but had good bartenders.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Toronto for the first time at the end of July and LOVED our stay at Le Germain. The check-in process was easy, they were able to give us a room before the 3pm check in time. The room was very modern and clean. The room was cleaned everyday, that was great too. The best... More

This was our second stay at this hotel. I did review our first stay and did have one issue with reservations. The manager reached out to me and made everything right. Customer service like this is top notch. Thanks Nicholas! Again, we had a great stay. The service is unbelievable to the valet and check in. We even had a... More

We stayed at HLG for 2 nights in early August 16. The place is on Mercer street, just off the busy downtown streets of Toronto. Our room was exactly as the photos depicted - good size, well designed and clean. The only thing I would recommend is the hotel consider an "honor bar" given there isn't one in the hotel... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
