Great staff that makes everyone feel welcome and with all your basic amenities. Dorms are a little dingy, but the people make up for it and the beds are comfortable. I would definitely recommend here for solo travelers and anyone wanting to make friends quickly.

Great place. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they have a lot of resources to help you, like letting you keep your luggage before or after check in, and also allow access to the common areas. They also offer a towel, the rooms are well equipped and also have a private washroom. Amazing kitchen and common area, there is...

Hello Fernanda! Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with future guests. We are so happy you had an AMAZING experience. We need metal bunk beds as they are the most sanitary to keep in a hostel with such high volume as ours. We will, however, look into ways to improve on possible squeakiness. Thanks again and safe travels!

Centrally located in a walking distance from the Union Station. Dorms are clean and comfortable. There is quite a nice bar/pub downstairs serving good food at reasonable prices. There is a big kitchen, too but no free tea or coffee. No free breakfast. You get 50% discount voucher for a breakfast in the bar, valid for the selected menu only.

I was skeptical when I entered my room - the washroom facilities looked outdated - but everything turned out to be clean and perfectly functional. The little touches really made this place stand out for me - cup dispenser by the washroom sink, a reading lamp for every bed, a heater controlled from inside the room, coathooks, winter blankets available,...

I stayed in this hostel, right after checking out from a hostel on the danforth, but this one , HI hostel, was way better than it. I am so happy that I made the right choice. This hostel was just in the downtown, you could visit so many places without having to pay money for transportation. The employees were really...

Hi hostels are quite popular around the world. I stayed for couple of nights at this hostel in Toronto. It was an amazing feeling sharing a room with a Korean, an Australian and an Irishman. The place offers you everything you would need on a backpacking visit. Most of the facilities offered are in a DIY mode. The staff is...

This place had the most infuriating wifi that would constantly drop out. We kept haaving to use the one lift to get down to the lobby to use the wifi. Sounds like a gripe but when you're planning an onward journey, checking in to flights or contacting home wifi is important. That being said it is well-located, the staff were...

Stayed 3 nights here in an 8 bed dorm. We apologize if there were some bathrooms out of service during your stay, but we appreciate your understanding as this is a much necessary step in order to improve our services. Stayed three nights here in an 8 bed female dorm and was perfectly okay, room is long and thin so not much space but wasn't an issue. Bathrooms in the room make things helpful but also cause more noise when sleeping with people using them. Wifi on ground and 2nd floor is pretty bad, cuts in and out but apparently...

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
