Perfect Job! Wish you all the best on your Bahamas mission! The boat is in Perfect condition! Congratulations! Diane and Ted are so amazing and Time was to Short to keep in touch more. Thanks für all!,
THE QUAY TO A GOOD VISIT Making Waves Boatel is Toronto & Ontario's only boat motel. And it's been rated as one of the best boat hotels in the world! Although location is key (Queen's Quay West, to be exact) the real reason to LOVE this BOAT is that Captain Ted and Diane offer completely comfortable cabins and high-class hospitality. And an egg-cellent breakfast prepared with TLC! In short, it's a better B&B. Did I mention that my stay here was very comfortable and convenient? It's close to downtown Toronto - minutes away from CN Tower, Union Station, Rogers Centre and Ripley's Aquarium. Not to mention Billy Bishop Airport and the Toronto Islands. And you can easily get there by TTC streetcar. But - because you're on the waterfront - you don't FEEL like you're downtown. You feel like you're on holiday! How good is it? So good that they don't do Air B&B. I'd love to stay there again and recommend it to anyone who appreciates the personal touch. …
Location: Just west of the financial district and 200 yards of public transport. CN tower an easy walk. Hosts Captain Ted & Diane: These are two of the most wonderful hosts you’ll ever meet. Diane sat with me to go over all the key points of Toronto interest. She’s also a bit of a Toronto historian as a bonus. Food: As the pictures show the freshly and basically individually prepared breakfast was marvelous! General: The boat is clean and well organized, rooms are spacious with the beds being comfortable.
Great stay with Diane and Ted. They welcome you onto their boat and make you feel right at home. Close to everything in downtown Toronto but yet tucked away in a quiet section dockside. Single room is small but all you need since you can sit anywhere on the boat and watch the activities on the water and planes coming in to Billy Bishop airport. Best sleep I have had in a long time as the boat gently rocks you to sleep. Dianne makes a spectacular breakfast! Would definitely return again.
The most relaxed environment you can ever imagine, but yet steps away from the heart of Toronto. Highly recommend for those looking to avoid the impersonal experience of staying at a downtown hotel. Diane and Capt. Ted are very gratious and welcoming to their home, and are very accomodating. Sitting on the top deck at night with a refreshment while taking in the sights of the Toronto skyline is relaxation at its best. Specially prepared breakfast in the morning is an event. We thank Diane and Ted for allowing us to share their home.
Diane and Ted were amazing hosts and made sure we were up to date on the events happening during the days we were visiting, with a very personal touch. You really felt you had a local helping you plan your days! The boat itself is an unique experience to try. The cabin, decoration throughout the boat, and breakfast experience were all top notch. Definitely recommended!
My 4th stay ( losing track) at Making Waves Boatel for Toronto Honda Indy weekend. Arrived 10 minutes earlier than predicted and 5 hours before normal check in. Messaged prior to make sure that's ok, Diane was as usual, quick back to say that was ok. Arrived, hugs from my hosts, introductions to Claire, also a boatel mate, quick beer, because it's Indy and off to Canada's only Indy race. Return to meet Ruth and Rudolf from Switzerland also Crew..quick change to head to Mountain Equipment Coop to get a Portage yoke for my canoe. In retrospect...maybe walking around Toronto with a piece of ash after buying it...yeah. Returned home, greeted with Diane's stuffed animal display ( become a fun thing where we leave them posed, myself before races and she before I returned. She pulled out Scarlett (ships bird) and a Fraggle. Bear and I speechless. Anyhow...my experience with Making Waves Boatel as a premises? Always friggin amazing. As a repeat guest, Diane worries she's made me the same breakfast. As a repeat guest, I worry someone else makes it. It truly boggles. The Hosts of the boggle? Beautiful people. My cabin for Indy in 2020 already booked. …
We stayed on the Boatel for only 2 nights. Diane and Ted were very gracious hosts...Accommodations were perfect. We were fortunate enough to have the "suite" with our own bathroom. The room is obviously smaller than a hotel room, but it was perfect for us. We loved being able to walk to everything, and then come back and relax outside on one of the deck areas with a glass of wine, and enjoy the view. They do have some beer and wine for sale on their boat and there is also a Beer Store and a Wine Store down the street. The boatel is very convenient to just about anything you need. There's a couple of small grocery stores down the street and a drug store. There's a Subway Sandwich Shop and a Starbucks right across the street and a few nice restaurants, which I'm sure Diane will let you know about. We walked everywhere...to the CN Tower, Rogers Stadium, Hockey Hall of Fame, St. Lawrence Marketplace, etc. etc. Lots to do and you don't have to worry about driving. We truly enjoyed our stay at the boatel!…
I used to stay in the Fairmont - Now I stay in the Boatel. What could be better than a bed and breakfast in a boat in the scenic harbour? Diane and Ted are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts are the best! The cabins are well laid out, (but are ships cabins, so are small in comparison to a hotel room), beds comfortable, nice linens and towels - and it is a lovely place to be in Toronto, almost under the CN tower on the waterfront. I really miss them off season!
What a fantastic place to stay! Owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb! Room was tastefully decorated and very clean. Contact to stay was very much appreciated. Can not wait to return.
