The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto is often celebrated for its exceptional service, with staff going above and beyond to craft memorable experiences, though a handful of guests have experienced slower service. While opinions on value vary, the luxurious club lounge, spa, and rooms with stunning views are frequently praised. Nestled in the heart of downtown, its prime location is a highlight for visitors. The hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness receive high marks, although some suggest a refresh might be due. Rooms are generally admired for their spaciousness and modernity, yet a few guests have encountered less satisfactory conditions.

Very nice property, however, I did expect a bit more. As a Titanium Elite member I did expect them to at least acknowledge that I was staying with them for my birthday, from out of the country, they did not. I was given a basic king room, which I booked but it was not how I envisioned. The bathroom was beautiful and the height of the room experience. There was no breakfast included or any amenities and was asked to spend an additional $300+ a day for the club lounge, which included breakfast. Honestly, it was not worth it for me. However, staff were the best, most certainly the porters and Ritz Cafe staff set the tone; superb service. I’m not certain that I’d stay with the Ritz again in Toronto because it didn’t feel like the luxury experience I intended for it to be.

Room is gorgeous. Check-in by my friend was smooth. The housekeeper we bumped into was very pleasant. Everyone was going above and beyond until we went to had drinks at the bar last night. The host greeted us as expected and used our names. He was engaging as well as the bartender. However, this is where we got a bit disappointed. The bartender did not have a name plate on. We don’t know his name nor did he ask us for our names. Three steps of service down the drain. As a former associate, it is quite disappointing on that part.

Dear PicklesA, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent visit to our property. We are delighted to hear that you found your room to be up to your expectations and that your check-in experience was smooth. It's also wonderful to know that you found our housekeeper pleasant and experienced exceptional service from our host and bartender upon your visit to the bar. However, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced regarding the lack of a name plate on the bartender and the missed opportunity for introductions. We understand the importance of personalized service and acknowledging our guests by name. As a former employee you definitely seem to know about our standards, and I am sure our bar manager would have loved to discuss about your recommendations... Warm regards, Guillaume B., General Manager

I was planning a visit to my mom (who is turning 90 this year) locally and decided to treat her to a "staycation". I used my Marriott points and chose the Ritz mostly due to the pool and spa and the good reviews. I've stayed in a lot of Ritz Carltons but this was definitely the best and it was due to the amazing service we received from the moment we arrived until when we left. I need to specifically call out all the bell/valet staff. Funny, friendly and helpful. Due to her age, my mom has some trouble getting into high vehicles and they were always there ready to help. They greeted us like family every time we returned to the hotel. At breakfast one day, the GM of the hotel came around and introduced himself (I think to the Bonvoy elite members) - I truly appreciated that and I think that type of management is why you see exemplary service throughout the hotel. If you ask someone at the front desk where something is, they will walk you there and ask you about your day and it seems genuine. When you sit down in one of the restaurants, you will be addressed by name. We had a really lovely afternoon in the spa and I can't say enough about the service providers there - great massage and truly amazing facials. My mom's provider even hugged her when she said goodbye. I think some of the soft furnishings in the lounge are due for a refresh but everything is well maintained and very clean. We had a spotless and very comfortable room with 2 queen beds with a view of the CN Tower. Diptyque amenities, Nespresso machine, complimentary bottled (glass) water, bathroom with a large tub and walk in shower and WC. A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable - it is a memory of a special time with my mom that we will both cherish.

Amazing hotel w great view of the Lake - especially for New Years firework. However the suites are just one component as the Excellent Service is really what makes this hotel stand out. Would like to highlight Shea Flores who is just a natural hotelier with a sincere passion for what she does. She is attentive and caring - helpful and makes you feel at home.

Christmas at the Ritz-Carlton! Review by Naome Godinez (Gold Elite - Marriott Bonvoy) 12/25 - 12/26 2023 An unforgettable experience. From the moment I pulled into the hotel lobby my family and I were immediately attended to. We celebrated Christmas here, hosting a small luncheon with our immediate family. The lobby decor was simple yet elegant and the staff were expedient to ready our room so that we start our Christmas smorgasbord. From the very of the end of the entryway, into the elevator and finally our room, not a blemish could be seen; kudos to the individuals that keep this facility spotless! The room itself (805) had an impressive view of C.N. Tower, which gave a unique backdrop to our Christmas photos. Thoughtful gifts were given to my children, a testament to the hotel’s organizational prowess both off and on site. We even received some post dinner cookies and milk! The stay was leaving all of us floored. We frequent hotels often, but your customer service, cleanliness, kindness and engaging attitude are top-shelf. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. You’ll be attracted by the replete images of comfort, style and class but you’ll want to stay because of the astounding level of service. As a foot note; the hotel automatically extended our checkout time. In the past, other facilities required formal requests to be made for late-checkouts. In short, come and stay here, you need look no further! The location is prime, the rooms are charming and I’ve already mentioned the service; now second to none!

4 night stay in a lake view corner suite with club level access. This Ritz stands out as one of the best in the world because of the exemplary team lead by Guillaume Benezech the GM. Everyone is there to make sure you enjoy your stay at the hotel, and the great city of Toronto. Our corner suite had plenty of room with 1.5 baths, double sink bathroom and a comfortable sitting area. The views are a nice combination of the lake and city entertainment area. We enjoyed a light room service lunch that was delivered promptly and prepared perfectly. Breakfast at Toca was very comfortable with first class service. Don’t miss the coffee/bakery shop French Made a few blocks away for great coffee and baked goods.

Last weekend I spent three nights at the hotel and as usual, it did not disappoint. From the time I arrived until I left, the staff were all wonderful. All my interactions were professional yet warm and kind at the same time. The room was very clean , modern, comfortable and well kept. My flight actually arrived on time and I called to see if I could drop off my luggage until check in. The staff said I could and when I arrived, I was actually able to check in. I had a to go breakfast from the Ritz Bar a few mornings and it was very good. They also have a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options. I also treated myself to a pedicure too. Which was lovely. The Spa is very relaxing and the staff are great. You pay for the five star experience but it is worth it. I saved for this trip and it was worth it. I cannot wait to return.

Our 1st time staying at the Ritz in Toronto, but have stayed in various other hotels in downtown Toronto. Pros: * great location - close to some amazing bars and restaurants. 10 minute walk to Union Station. * Beautiful room - gorgeous, modern room with comfortable bed, great amenities, and large bathroom. We were given a room with a terrace which was a bonus in the nice weather. * Great service - all staff that we encountered were helpful and polite. Late check out was accommodated for us too. Cons/feedback: * Not the most powerful shower - it did the job, but I do like higher water pressure. * Small niggles - bathroom had some cobwebs over the sink and the wooden board around the bed needed cleaning (was dusty and had a stain on too). The above doesn't take away from the great experience we had and I'd highly recommend this hotel to others. We will certainly consider staying here again on future trips.
