I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto and the visit was wonderful. I don't often stay at luxury hotels, but this was to celebrate a big milestone, so I decided to go for it and I am SO glad I did. During my stay I felt like the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel was very clean and organized which made me feel safe - especially since we hadn't stayed at a hotel during the pandemic yet. Our room was beautiful and had an amazing view of the city. One day, we had some small bites (charcuterie) sent to the room and everything was delicious. For dinner we decided we would stay in and enjoy our room since we don't do this often and wanted to make the most of the room amenities. We asked the staff for recommendations for nearby takeout and they were really helpful. They even offered to call ahead and place the order for us. They also sent dishes and cutlery to our room which made our dinner feel a little extra special even though we were eating takeout in the room. While we were there my partner treated me to a spa service and the experience was really lovely. I left the Ritz feeling really relaxed and happy with the experience. I will definitely keep the Ritz, Toronto in mind for future stays and celebrations.…
The Ritz-Carlton Visit, So we had another great stay at The Ritz, this time for my birthday, my wife was unable to join us so it was just myself and my daughter. We had decided this time to get the corner suite, initially without the club lounge access. After booking Shea from Guest Experiences had reached out to me, offering suggestions, booking us in to the newly opened Epoch, also bookings for TOCA as well pre booked, I had a lot of interaction with Shea prior to arrival. This was a new experience for us, a lot of text comms on booking and checking on our itineraries etc as well as emails going back and forward, which was a very nice touch. Pre-booking reservations I think is a great idea. After a long Friday night drive through downtown traffic, we arrived fairly late and I checked in with Elizabeth, as I was checking in I was surprised, pleasantly surprised to be greeted by GM Mr. Guillame Benezach who came over to welcome us and say hi. It was great seeing him again and he had gone through great lengths (through our comms) in putting wheels in motion to ensure our stay was great. Now, it had been some years that we had the suite and something was amiss, the room seemed a bit too dark although it was night time and some of the facilities in the room which were previously in the last suite, such as the TV in the bathroom mirrors and heated bathroom floors, also the dividing door was gone. It also looked like the mini-bar/honour bar had gone and a new design of what appeared to be an old style traveling case in place albeit with in-built mini fridge, tea and coffee station. Perhaps there is no demand for this anymore? Although I must admit having a full stocked honor bar is an awesome feeling but I guess people may just be asking an empty fridge to put their own drinks and candy’s in there. I also guess it makes things easier. The writing desk was also not in the main bedroom but in the joining section in-between the bedroom and the sitting area however it did have a built in make-up mirror/light with plug points in there, so fine for doing your make up, but no good for working and a bit weird that there were no power points at the desk top. I’m not sure if I could have routed my laptop to those points but I found some at floor level As a rewards member we had free wifi and it was fast and we were both able to watch youtube on both my own laptop and the TV’s. We had a couple of movie nights and pop-corn to boot which was fantastic. But I couldn’t still get the feeling that this was not quite right, I did want my daughter who didn’t remember her last trip to be as wowed and amazed as I was. Although that said she was actually amazed at the whole room saying how awesome the suite was and her jaw totally dropped on entering the room. Still, I went down to have a chat with Elizabeth who really understood what my concerns where and in true Ritz form, was 100% customer focused on trying to help out. I knew this experience could be better. At this point I met Shea for the first time, who had a lovely gift for my daughter and did explain the main changes in the Ritz and the room redesign but did want me to be happy with my room choices so she suggested a higher floor. I also reconsidered my option for the club lounge. Now this room had a totally different feel, much brighter and it was then that I realised that although the room layout was the same it was actually a brighter, lighter colour carpet that was different. This brightens up the room no end also the higher floor gave more light to the room the view was better and bingo like that we were set. (so tip one, you do need a higher floor, 19 or higher). Both Shea and Elizabeth really made my concerns not seem over the top, you are paying good money and they want you to be happy with the product. I remember apologizing profusely, I felt like some diva who wasn’t getting what she wanted LOL but no, they totally understood and wanted everything to be right, everything to be up to Ritz standard. We dined at Epoch that evening it was great to see Carleen and the food was out of this world. We decided to get best bang for our buck by doing 2 full days of club lounge and to be honest, you really have to think, when you do the math, the club lounge IS WELL WORTH it, you basically have food offerings 5 times a day. Unlimited soft drinks and alcohol, you are staying at a 5 star hotel, when you think for 2 people what you are paying for club lounge you are ACTUALLY saving money but it’s NOT just the food and drink offerings. You are paying for a little piece of relaxation you are dining in style, a beautiful view of the lake, attentive staff this…THIS you cannot put a dollar figure to the staff are able to secure discounts on attractions, make you out of this world cocktails, fantastic cappuccino’s, they offer suggestions and more ! You have to understand, YES you can go out and get a $20 breakfast BUT you are here to relax, enjoy and be pampered, this is what you don’t see when look at prices when booking. From Saturday to Monday we were pretty much stuffed with all the little food offerings. Often nipping up to grab a coffee, a candy or a pop, almost like nipping into your very own BUT well stocked kitchen for a bite to eat, and taking back some bagels or a pastry to your room after breakfast is a must. For the real true Ritz experience if you DO NOT GO club lounge you are missing out. This time round we didn’t go Toca, the offerings were not really to my taste, all though they all sounded exquisite, my daughter was more keen on going out and hitting the night life, although I knew the service would not be the same, my birthday dinner at Moxies which is just across the street was very "lackluster" but when you have an 11 year old fine dining is not really what they are after. Maybe next time. However we made it back to the lounge and Olga made a fantastic take on a Cosmo for me and of course who birthday needs cake when you have The Ritz desserts. I’m not sure why the Ritz Bar was closed, but that was a really nice buzzing place. Very bright and vibrant, a nice place for breakfast and lunch and to hang out in, maybe Epoch is the new Ritz Bar ? but as we had the club lounge we didn’t miss out. My daughter of course LOVED the hot tub and swimming pool and it was just great to relax, the remit for this weekend was RELAX, get pampered and celebrate, my wife def missed out on this weekend. Although there were some glitches and I do mean, very minor ones, the overall experience you just cannot beat, one thing that The Ritz has, it has fantastic grade A customer service EVERYONE you meet from the front door guy’s, the bell, the valets are all totally awesome I mean where else will you see a hotel GM come and greet you. Where else will you see guest experience staff who REALLY DO want to make your experience great. I’ve been to The Ritz now 5 times, by far my most favourite place to stay and relax. It is more expensive than most hotels but you have to understand this is a 5 Star hotel, If you can’t finance a suite go for a deluxe guest room you won’t be disappointed. If a suite YOU must get a high floor. And you MUST, absolutely MUST get club lounge access. I want to give a BIG thank you to ALL the fantastic and hard working Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz, the club lounge staff, Shea and of course Mr Benzech for taking the trouble to see that everything was perfect for us. I’m still eyeing up the banquet hall, maybe for a wedding LOL (mind you I have about 8 years to start saving for that!) I hope pictures will be posted here I have 2 video’s on “youtube”, so do visit me on adrianjayonline for those.…
This is our first time staying at this Ritz property celebrating husbands 70th birthday. We have to thank Ms. S. Flores for looking after our reservation in ensuring our stay was nothing short of PERFECTION. Ms. Flores and the Ritz Toronto value their Bonvoy members and we are made to feel so valued and appreciated. Not all Marriott properties recognize Bonvoy members loyalty but here they definitely do. Upon checkin I had asked Ms. Flores if there is a gift shop so I can buy a Ritz rubber duck as we collect them from all the Ritz properties that we have frequented. She said there isn’t a gift shop but she will find one for me. Well, to our surprise the next evening, Ms. Flores not only found us a Ritz duck but she and her team took different photos of the “duck” all around the hotel and even presented a gift to my husband for his 70th birthday! Ms. Flores and her team certainly went over and beyond the call of duty to ensure guests needs and requests are met. A huge THANKYOU goes out to Ms. Flores! we also want to recognize another awesome team member, Olivia, in Toca restaurant. Our friends and we had a lovely lunch at Toca and Olivia took it upon herself to ensure my husbands 70th and our friends 63rd birthday were celebrated in style. She treated us to a seafood tower that was so so fresh and delicious along with a dessert tower. Thank you so kindly Olivia for going the extra mile for our fantastic luncheon experience at Toca. Our room 1715 was absolutely gorgeous with a very comfortable sofa bed of bamboo mattress. There are 2 toilets where the main toilet is all electronically controlled with sprays, flush, and even temperature control. The washroom is gorgeous and bright with a deep tub and walk in shower. Our king bed was very comfortable with no sags and the bed. The bed linen feels like Frette linen as it is very high thread count. In the bedroom, there is also a chaise lounge which was very comfortable and classy looking. The huge tv in the bedroom has tons of channels and the very large tv in the living room is the same. The living room has lots of seating with 2 separate side chairs and another table with a chair for all your charging needs. The room had lots of outlets and charging stations. We appreciate the 2 charging stations beside our bed one on each side. The entire room is so well maintained and clean with complimentary bottled waters and Nespresso coffee and Sloan teas daily. The pool ranges from about 4 to 4.4 feet deep with jets in the pool. I really enjoyed the salt water pool vs chlorine because it was less harsh on our skin and lacked the smell of chlorine. The change room and shower were clean and very well maintained regularly. There are plenty of loungers and chairs but the hot tub is not that large but comfortable enough for 3 to 4 adults. My only suggestion is to install a bathing suit spinner in the change room? The property is very low key with luxury and elegance. Everyone is helpful and so friendly. As guests of the Ritz Toronto, we are so fortunate to have such top calibre staff here like Ms. Flores and Olivia in Toca. Thank you so so much for the first class customer service and the hard working housekeeping team keeping our rooms so spic and span on a daily basis. If I can give this property 10 stars out of 5, I would because this is how great this property is. We will stay nowhere else the next time we are in Toronto! Thank you so much again to all the excellent staff!…
My husband and I chose to stay at the Ritz Carlton because of it's stellar reputation and the expectation of relaxing in luxury. Our three night stay did not disappoint! Our travel agent had put in a request and at check in we received a room upgrade to a corner suite. The suite was large, immaculately clean with amazing windows and comfortable bedding. We consider ourselves lucky to have meet Olga (Club Attendant) at the Club Lounge, we are grateful of her friendly and thoughtful care for us our whole stay. You will not be able to find better more attentive professional service anywhere. From the moment we stepped into The Lounge we were made to feel pampered and comfortable by Olga. It is more than just a pride in her work, Olga genuinely cares for guests like family. Our experience in the Club Lounge took our stay from wonderful to exceptional. Many heartfelt thankyous to Olga and her co-workers. We spent a fair bit of time in the Club Lounge; breakfast daily and we enjoyed the many other offerings throughout the day. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet space to read while enjoying an afternoon beverage and also late evening cocktails. While at the Ritz Carlton we used the gym daily, both my husband and myself found the facilities to be well appointed. (Small inconvenience in that the set of 5lb weights were mismatched, one was smaller rubber type then the other a large size. This made it harder to complete certain exercises. I would have also liked a set of 8lb weights.) I also used the pool which was clean and a good temperature. The railings into the pool and the ladder could use updating - in my opinion they are lowering the overall quality of the pool itself - which is beautiful with lovely tile. We dined at Toca inside The Hotel, and received a complimentary glass of champagne each as it was our anniversary. Service was smooth and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the really fresh and enjoyable squid ink pasta and seafood special. We also had cocktails at the Epoch bar - I can recommend the Lychee Martini as a fun choice. Our suite was cleaned at least twice daily - and our rose petal turndown and bubble bath were exceptionally romantic. The bath was relaxing and very aromatic. I loved the bathroom and other facilities in our room. I did find the lighting a bit dim in the bathroom, it would have been more comfortable to have a chair or stool at a vanity for makeup and hair. It was an amazing stay and we are already making plans to return next year for our anniversary.…
Deven went above and beyond during our stay. We arrived early and he was able to accommodate our early check in. He got us the best price for our suite. Deven asked us if we were celebrating anything. He was very kind and sent my partner a hand written birthday note. Our experience with Deven was the best customer service experience we both have received. Thank you Deven!
To start, the hotel is in a prime location. Absolutely beautiful hotel, and wonderful staff. The room was spacious and immaculate. We had an amazing experience here, it is everything you would expect from a hotel of this class. Will come again!
Amazing room with great staff, friendly environment Thank you for the hospitality. Clean, friendly and the room service was amazing. The experience was amazing. Really loved the swimming pool and the spa and most importantly love the room service. Def come again!
Absolutely amazing. Justin provided exceptional service and I do hope that upper management is aware of his efforts, attitude and attention to service details. I live in the city but this is 100% my go-to recommendation for any family, colleagues or friends staying in the area. Thank you & I will see you all again soon!
What a lovely staycation provided by the Ritz Carlton Toronto. This was our first time staying at a Ritz property and it certainly exceeded our expectations. The hotel room and building is beautiful and is kept in top notch shape. The staff are all very professional, polite, and quick to respond to anything. The room was spotless and everything in it was very nicely laid out. We had a Deluxe King on the 15th floor with a city view. They surprised us with a complimentary welcome cake for my wife upon arrival. So thoughtful and a nice touch. The room itself is huge with a large sitting area with a big couch and coffee table. There is a nice bar area with a complimentary Nespresso machine. The TV was crisp and had lots of options. The bathroom is huge and my wife loved the deep soaker tub to have a bath in. We called the front desk to bring up bubble bath and bath salts, which were delivered very quickly. The pool was salt water and had lots of seating around it if you just want to relax. It was very clean and the area is well maintained. The spa was my favorite part with its steam room, large jacuzzi, saunas and large showers (with jets from all directions). We had drinks at Epoch and were very impressed. Courtney the bar tender was very personal and friendly. He went beyond our expectations to make us feel welcome and acknowledged my wife's birthday with a glass of bubbly. So nice and thoughtful. We then went to have dinner at Toca and that was so excellent. The portions aren't huge but we left feeling full after splitting an appetizer and each having an entre. All the staff we interacted with were very professional as well. We ordered breakfast through the room service menu the following morning after having the best sleep in years. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked well with lots of condiments to go along with it. I don't have one bad thing to say, so I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay in Toronto…
We stayed the weekend at this iconic hotel and we were not disappointed! The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were thrilled to gain access to our room 3 hours ahead of checkin. The staff at checkin was so friendly and helpful as were all of the staff we encountered! Of note, our housekeeper, Jaya, went above and beyond expectations. She greeted us every time we came to our floor and surprised us with personal touches such as rose petals in a beautiful design on the bed to celebrate our anniversary, small snacks and fresh fruit! We were also delighted to come back to our room one evening to chocolate dipped strawberries to celebrate our anniversary. The bathroom in our hotel room was hands down the most beautiful and luxurious bathroom I’ve ever encountered with under counter motion sensor lights, dual sinks, a deep soaker tub and a separate area for the toilet and shower. The fitness area was fantastic and contained a ton of exercise equipment including multiple treadmills and two peleton bikes. The pool area was well kept and the only small disappointment of our stay was the very small hot tub which meant (due to Covid restrictions) we often had to wait for quite awhile to gain access. Otherwise, our stay was phenomenal and we loved every minute.…
