The receptionists at the front desk were fantastic. I had lost my car keys and they were very helpful in trying to find it. Fortunately someone awesome handed them in. God bless that person. Location and breakfast was great.

I actually stayed in this hotel nineteen years ago when it was a Days Inn. Thankfully there has been some refurbishment since then and I found the rooms pleasant and the beds comfortable. While I have become used to the foibles of coffee making machines in North America, the one here was particularly complicated. Oh for a kettle and some... More

Excellent, clean and centrally located, good for most of the sights. Even the waterfront is an easy stroll. - less than 30 minutes. Rooms are a little small (though no more so than most city-centre hotels in North America, though very well equipped considering the price. Wifi is free and pretty speedy. Rooms come with fridge, iron and ironing board,... More

I was booked into this hotel while on business. It served its purpose for the one evening that I spent there, although it was your typical Holiday Inn without any major amenities. I found the entrance to the hotel a bit off-putting (intertwined with some rather seedy restaurants) and the area surrounding the hotel seemed to be a mecca for... More

Thank you Fridaysmom for your review. We're sorry to hear you found the entrance to the hotel to be off-putting, and apologize if you were uncomfortable in our neighbourhood. Although there are many affordable restaurants to the west of us on Yonge Street, there are some fantastic options to the east on Church Street. Should you choose to stay with... More

Hotel well situated with access for wheel chair. There is a convenient Store right across the street and a few eateries around. Slow elevators, and ac only in rooms, not in hallways. Room clean, nice bathroom with walk in shower. Check with Hotel personnel if your tv is not working as ours only had 2 channels. Quiet, restful, thick curtains... More

Visited here as a couple and we enjoyed our three day stay. Our room was to the front of the hotel, on a quiet upper floor, away from lifts, room had fridge and safe in room with a comfortable bed. We had a view of the CN tower from our room which was a bonus. The bus stop for the... More

The hotel has a good location and near a subway station. Staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to help especially if you need direction where to go. Room was clean but a bit cramp, more like a Holiday Inn Express. Room insulation is welcome since I can always hear road noises and sirens at night. Internet connection was fast... More

This hotel is siruated on the very edge of the down town core. The area around the property is quite seedy with lots of street people although it does appear to be quite safe. Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
