Nice hotel. Check in was a bit of a hassle. Free cookies at check in, delicious. Rooms were nice, a bit small, but what do you expect when staying in Toronto. Had many rooms and they put us all on the same floor which we...More
This hotel is a real gem in the heart of the city. To begin with, I was thrilled that, when my wife and I arrived very early (9:00 am.) they were able to provide our room for us. We had hoped to just store our...More
We stayed in room 309 and I would not recommend being by the stairwell. Room very small and crowded for two, regret not changing room but they were full. Very long hallway from doorway to bed. Bathroom too small with no counterspace. The room was...More
We traveled for a wedding! It was great! The food was delicious, the service was delightful. The rooms were clean, and the perfect temperature. We had several hours between our checkout and our flight. The hotel held our bags and had a car waiting to...More

At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of
vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

I know of two nearby places for beer. A few blocks west of the hotel (5 or 10 minute walk) at Dundas and McCaul are two pubs across from the AGO museum. Sin and Redemption had a huge beer selection of bottles and drafts. Emphasis is on Belgian beers/food but they have local beers too. It was packed with locals and had a neighborhood vibe. Nextdoor is the Village Idiot pub, which was also packed, but we didn't visit.
