We have been staying at the Chelsea for the past 14 years and and have always received exceptional treatment from the staff. From the doorman through the entire areas of the hotel, the staff are warm, friendly and truly care for you having a great visit. We will always recommend the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto.

I stay here 50 - 60 times a year and have noticed a consistent downward spiral in terms of service and value. The halls are dark and dingy, the rooms aren't always as clean as I would like them to be. They are chronically short staffed at the front desk and the front desk staff are usually harried and some...

I stayed at the Chelsea Hotel in downtown Toronto from the 14th to the 19th of April. The location was the best thing. The overall service was competent. The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathroom of the room. Upon arrival I found brown stains on the towels as well as little hairs in the bathtub area. The day...

My husband, daughter & I stayed here for 2 nights in April, on our first visit Toronto. Check in and out was straight forward, reception & concierge teams very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, and had enough space for a city hotel - we had 2 doubles in our room. Well positioned to get around the city,...

I have stayed at the Chelsea hotel many times over the past 15 years. Whether it is for business or family vacation; I have always had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The staff at the Chelsea always make me feel very welcome. It is like a home a way from home for me!

Discovered that when you come in April, neither the heating nor the air conditioning is on, so you cannot control the temperature of the room. The best you can do is put on a fan and hope for the best. When the weather is variable like it is this time of year, it was frustrating and not terribly comfortable. Rooms...

I struggle to pick the worst part of my one night stay. For context, I travel a good deal, and generally don't need much beyond the basics. Chelsea seems to have gotten them all wrong. The hallway leading to my room was dark, reminding me of a Motel 6. The room itself is long and narrow, 11 feet wide. Smaller...

Paper-thin walls, every person rolling over in bed or walking down the hall was in my ears all night, I slept exactly zero minutes. Confusing breakfast system, I just ignored it. Decent enough location if you're looking to score some heroin.

We stayed overnight from when my son flew in from school. We were going to see a Jays game and the front desk was super accommodating about extending our parking until after the game. It was outstanding customer service.

The location was a perfect distance from everything in downtown. 5 minute walk to Women's College Hospital in one direction and 5 minute walk in the other direction to the Eaton's Centre. Lots of choice for meals around the hotel or if you didn't have time to walk around the food in the restaurants in the hotel is quite good...

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
