My wife and I stayed in Studio 6 for a 3 night stay in Toronto and I must admit we were a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews on here however we needn’t have worried, this place was great and everything we needed to enjoy all that Toronto offers. First impressions from outside the building were of a... More

Location near streetcar, Kensington Market area, Chinatown, restaurants. Nothing fancy, but not expensive (about $150 $US per night with cost of off-street parking included). Ten minutes walk to just about anything, including a nearby Loblaw's super market on Queen St; 20 minutes walk to Rogers Centre and the waterfront. Good WiFi included. Room was clean, a bit small. Bed (King)... More

It's a completely average hotel. But you know what? It is an AMAZING location! Put up with the drab, but clean rooms. The beds are good. And enjoy the proximity to cool places to eat and drink - so many of them - all within walking distance. It's not your normal hotel. You'll doubt it when you walk up. But... More

Small room, beds/pillow ok, clean enough, booked for quick trip to see a couple of Jays games, did the trick, somewhere to sleep, wouldn't want to stay more than one night though, just too cramped for me. AC ridiculously loud but was essential due to small room being so warm. Staff very friendly, called from Rogers Centre asking about late... More

About a 20 minutes walk from anything relevant through the untidy area of chinatown you will find studio 6 in a semi run down area. The air conditioning is amazingly loud, the shower room hasnt got proper ventilation so shower gets very steamy (not in a good way) and the setting for the shower is very hit and miss. The... More

The photos looked amazing, it seems they have recently renovated. The reality is very different, its a very old building in quite a run down area. Our room wasn't very clean when we checked in and even after service during the stay was still not cleaned. Beds are comfortable and it was great to have a refrigerator and microwave. Free... More

We'd stayed in this hotel a number of times before when it was The Grange. It's an older studio apartment building. As it was it was sorely in need of some upgrades and was probably a 1 star at best. Well they've done some upgrades, painted and put in new beds and appliances. It's still an old building and it... More

Room clean and kitchen a plus. Spent one night but able to walk everywhere. Art Gallery of Ontario (Very cool!) .2 mile away. Saw "Idea of the North" art show there. Awesome! Harbour front 1.6 miles approximately. We did harbour boat tour, outstanding day. Our bathroom mirror was cracked on edges but this was minor. Lobby needs an update. We... More

It all looks nice on the pictures but reality is not that nice. It's old, a bit dirty, a bit broken, but the beds are excellent and the location is excellent too. Don't try the airco at night, it's one of the old fashioned units (30 years old?) that will keep you awake.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Given the price I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, great shower and fantastic location. 30 minutes was to the CN Tower. 5 minutes walk to Queen St and 10 minutes to King St with great restraunts and bars. Safe area, I felt comfortable walking back to hotel at any... More

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun. Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces that shoulder in against each other display shining roast ducks and menus studded with dumplings and noodle bowls. The air is pervaded with music. different languages, and the smell of fried food and mouth-watering desserts. Chinatown's restaurants represent a broad range of fare, from traditional Szechuan and Shanghai foods, to other Asian delicacies, including some of the top Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean spots in the city.
