We flew into Toronto from the UK and stayed for 4 nights at the Grand. What a great hotel. Staff we're very helpful and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we ever had. If you are thinking of staying in Toronto, then this one has got to be top of your list. The pool is beautiful and the hot... More

My partner and I arrived in the evening and were greeted by friendly doorbell men who helped us with our bags, they took them and placed them straight onto a trolley. Check in girls were very friendly and check in was practically instant! The room was great!! We were on the top floor with a view of Lake Ontario, the... More

The Grand was a fine home base from which to explore Toronto. The staff, both the front desk and doormen were very friendly and helpful. They were able to suggest several very good restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed the bar for an evening drink. The bartender was very friendly and also gave us some good suggestions for restaurants. The... More

A delightful stay! I have stayed here a few times, and we got a free upgrade and free gift upon check in because we booked through Expedia. Our suite was awesome! Top floor, 2 big bedrooms, wood floors, etc. Nice and spacious! Bathroom was a little small for 2 people to be able to get ready to go out at... More

I went to this hotel with my Daughter, and Grandchildren for a little getaway. The hotel is very nice. The first room was terrible. The TV for the sofa bed was facing the front door. I don't know how you could watch it from the couch, because there was no bracket, or anyway to turn the TV toward the couch.... More

It's on the edge of a seedy-but-improving area -- my window overlooked a brothel. It's a huge concrete building, and not even the fashionable 2000s concrete. Having said that, the price was ok and included wifi, pool, gym, newspapers, and an excellent breakfast. The staff was friendly and I would come again, despite of what I wrote at the start.

If you are travelling with kid(s), this hotel is a great pick. The pull out sofa served nicely for my son to just hang after we came back to hotel from day's travel around Toronto. Usually with the typical hotel room layout, you're running and bumping into each other which is the last thing you want to do after a... More

We found the rooms very small. No night stand on one side of bed. The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. Good sleep. Bed was up against wall which was right beside bathroom. Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
