Me and my wife visited the hotel back in February 2016 when we wanted to make a weekend out of our car show visit. Overall, considering the hotel is in Toronto I was expecting a significantly better hotel. Compared to other hotels I've stayed in major cities, this was pretty bad. Plus, it isn't very centrally located. Here is why...... More

The Grand Hotel was an excellent experience. From a quick, polite checkin to the same at checkout, everything went smoothly. My wife and I took the ship the Pearl Mist around the Great Lakes and started from the Grand Hotel. Great rooms, great staff, all great right down to the flowers. GO.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both stays. The hotel is well located to walk just about anywhere in the city. The rooms are modern and clean and the rooftop terrace is stunning at night with the Toronto skyline. We are planning on a third stay next year when we visit again and cant wait.

Ok, so I was a little hesitant to stay at a "boutique" hotel, worrying I might miss out on the amenities offered at the larger hotel. However, this was not the case.....AT ALL!!! This hotel was, in a word, awesome!! Everything from our arrival and being greeted by friendly staff, to the complimentary fruit at the front desk, to the... More

A nice hotel, the area is a little run down and the homeless might be a little shock to you but they are harmless. The shower is not great, it could do with modernisation. The bed is great. WiFi is rubbish. Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly.

First time to Canada and very pleased with the 10 nights we stayed in the Grand Hotel & Suites. A warm and friendly welcome and the staff added the touch as about 10 mins after we got into our room with a call to see if all was ok. Room on the 10th floor was clean and today with a... More

We had the pleasure of staying at The Grand for a weekend on a family vacation with our 3 year old son. As we usually stay at chain hotels we were a bit hesitant to try something new. We were so tremendously pleasantly surprised and happy to have had such a wonderful experience at The Grand. The location is fantastic!... More

Just back from a great stay at The Grand. Arrived to check in and was given a complimentary upgrade for the first time ever anywhere which was a very pleasant surprise. Room was stunning with an upstairs bedroom loft which my sons immediately commandeered as well as an en-suite bedroom and large living area with WC and kitchenette downstairs. All... More

This hotel is several blocks east of Dundas-Yonge square, and easily accessible by TTC or Uber if you're trying to explore downtown Toronto. My 5-night stay was very pleasant, and I have no complaints about the lodging or amenities. The surrounding neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired, but it's not a difficult or unsafe walk to get to nicer... More

We stayed in the hotel recently for four nights. The hotel is beautiful, lovely foyer, hallways, bar and breakfast outdoor area. Bedrooms are modern with a small lounge area, small kitchen area with hot plate and microwave, spacious modern bathroom and comfortable beds. The roof top terrace is amazing with two hot tub/ jacuzzis with gowns and towels freely supplied.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
