The aesthetic of Kimpton Saint George brings to mind Toronto’s heritage of craftsmanship and its evolving identity as a dynamic modern hub. Authentic flourishes, like custom art and furniture pieces from local artists and artisans, illustrate the distinctive identity (with a touch of irreverence) that makes Torontonians and travelers alike fall hard for the city. In each of our 188 guestrooms, including 20 suites and one Presidential Suite, we’ve created a haven for our guests meant to evoke the neighbourhood’s heritage residences. Clever touches, like carefully layered collected sculptural furnishings, complement a soothing palette of moody blues, greens and grays juxtaposed with warmer tones. It all comes together to create a visual narrative that immerses guests in elements of true Toronto.

Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.

My colleague and I are in Toronto for a conference presentation and we stayed here. The hotel delighted us in some ways (gym, amenities, wine hour) ... till we woke up in the morning realising that no water was coming out from all the taps in the bathroom! Called the front desk who responded by sending two bottles of water up. Asked for back-up options such as showering at a gym nearby and the front desk said there aren’t gyms nearby (yes there are - as I walked past TWO yesterday evening). What irked me was being given the explanations - “We should all take this as a learning lesson.” (By paying close to $300 a night to stay here? And risking our conference presentation by turning up unkempt?) and “Mam, you should understand that this is a building and things like this happen.” (Then anticipate and arrange for back-ups!) We were told we would be compensated ... and we wait to hear about it. Oh well - nothing could really make up for a pseudo camping experience of cleaning up using a bottle of water before a big day!

Hi Yibing Q, We are very sorry for your experience this morning with the water temporarily going out. We know this is the last thing you wanted to encounter right before a big presentation, and for that we are truly sorry. These types of situations are never easy to deal with, especially when they are unprecedented. Rest assured that your reservation was adequately compensated per your discussion with our front office team, and your concerns mentioned above have also been addressed. Once again, we completely understand your frustration, and hope that this issue will not deter you from staying at our property again in the future (and yes, the water issue has since been resolved).

I have stayed at a Kimpton property in Goleta, CA for a few months last year, and forgot how interesting they were. However, once I got into my suite, I realized how unique they truly are. From the turntables and records, to the yoga mats, bath robes and umbrellas, the hotel staff make one feel like a VIP. The staff are completely professional and seem pleasantly optimistic and happy. This will be my go-to property to stay at, when returning to Toronto. Oh, and make sure you bring some bubble bath soap with you, as the soaker tub is to die for. The mini bar is pretty stocked as well.

This was the first time I stayed at the Kimpton and I was anxious as I had potential eye surgery the next day. From the thoughtful treatment from Mary at the front desk, to the lovely room, to the exceptional salmon and attentive service in the restaurant, it made a very anxious person soothed. Throughout my stay, I was treated with personal attention and it felt like their main goal was to make my stay exceptional. Mission accomplished! Kathy

This addtion to the IHG group of hotels is truly stunning, from the moment you walk to the door you are greeted with smiles and offers of assistance, the check in process was seemless and a pleasure and then you get to enter the amazing fresh boutique style rooms. We were lucky to have a suite, which was amazing!! The little touches were brilliant, bluetooth speakers, mini bar with drinks and snacks are resonable prices and then the selection of LP's to play on the record player. Just sweet to relax and listen to some real tracks. Bathroom was beautiful, bath robes, you name it they catered to it. The Fortunate Fox pub had a great atomesphere and very nice food, bar staff were exceptional and very attentive. All round, I wish I had more cause to be in Toronto, just to stay at this hotel again and again. Hats off to this hotel, highly recomended. Special thanks to Mary, Stephan and all the other great staff.
