Our room was pretty standard. Clean. It was Pretty quiet considering we were just 5 floors above street level. If the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) or Bata Shoe Museum or the downtown campus of the University of Toronto are on your list of places to visit. Or the restaurants and shops of Yorkville, this is a great location. It's proximity... More

I had read various people's reviews about this hotel prior to arriving. I had already booked the room and figured we wouldn't be spending much time in the room and we liked that it had underground parking so how bad could it be? We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very nice with updated amenities. The carpet in the... More

The good: comfortable bed, refrigerator in room and, as mentioned by other guests, location, location and location. This hotel is directly across from the Bata Shoe Museum, two blocks away from the ROM and has multiple restaurants and stores withing walking distance. The bad: no pool, very cramped public area ("business center" was two computers in the middle of the... More

Stayed for business in September 2016. Check in service was friendly and reservation was fulfilled without issue. Did not find the restaurant selection in the area to be adequate and there was no freshly brewed coffee available before 7. The rooms were dated, but clean and the bed was comfortable. The parking was also adequate and provided in and out... More

I stayed at the Holiday Inn at 280 Bloor Street West for three nights, when my regular Toronto hotel was booked up. To be honest, I felt it was overpriced at nearly $300 per night, for an average quality hotel. The Pro's: -good air conditioning -comfortable bed -clean room -Fox & Fiddle next door provides an extensive room service menu.... More

This is a normal Holiday Inn. The rooms are predictable, big enough, clean, properly lit, and fully functional. Staff are friendly. What sets this apart is the very convenient location, near the subway, museums, the university, fabulous shopping from high fashion to funky finds, a big range of dining options, and more. Also, there is parking at a bearable price!... More

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Very close to the Royal Ontario Museum, the Bata Shoe Museum and many other sights in Toronto. Lots of great eateries in the vicinity as well. Front desk staff were great. Feels very tourist class, or a U of T grad residence, but the price is 4 star level. Rooms are comfortable but very 1980s, and a bit dark. No room safes. Fine if you simply need a place to rest, in a central location, and you get a good deal. Don't pay rack rate.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
