I stayed at the Holiday Inn at 280 Bloor Street West for three nights, when my regular Toronto hotel was booked up. To be honest, I felt it was overpriced at nearly $300 per night, for an average quality hotel. The Pro's: -good air conditioning -comfortable bed -clean room -Fox & Fiddle next door provides an extensive room service menu.... More

This is a normal Holiday Inn. The rooms are predictable, big enough, clean, properly lit, and fully functional. Staff are friendly. What sets this apart is the very convenient location, near the subway, museums, the university, fabulous shopping from high fashion to funky finds, a big range of dining options, and more. Also, there is parking at a bearable price!... More

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Very close to the Royal Ontario Museum, the Bata Shoe Museum and many other sights in Toronto. Lots of great eateries in the vicinity as well. The room however wasn't thoroughly cleaned. The bathtub had someone else's bath foam in it when we got there and we found someone else's rubbish under the... More

We found the hotel outdated and in need of refurbishment, although the room was clean, the room was dark and dingy (not like the photograph) The staff seemed uninterested in helping and everything seemed too much trouble, we were not impressed, when we complained or queried anything there was no apology or care from any of the staff. We were... More

Front desk staff were great. Feels very tourist class, or a U of T grad residence, but the price is 4 star level. Rooms are comfortable but very 1980s, and a bit dark. No room safes. Fine if you simply need a place to rest, in a central location, and you get a good deal. Don't pay rack rate.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. The hotel is conveniently located on Bloor Street right near the subway. The rooms are clean although our room was a little tired. We don't recommend the Fox and Fiddle, as it's a little tired and there were a few locals at the bar that liked their booze almost as much as swearing.... More

The room and hotel are clean, but everything is a bit too basic and dated. The hallway carpets are lumpy and have air pockets. Decor seems like it is from the 90's. Towels are rough. Shower pressure was nice. Linens seemed new. We've been to three Holiday Inns in the last month, this one is the most expensive with the... More

We arrived and were rushed by friends to get going, we weren't even checked in. The front desk staff were great and helped us hurry along. They took our luggage and delivered it to our rooms, and allowed us to check in later when we came back. They were always courteous and great whenever we needed anything from them. The... More

This facility offers a safe, clean, quiet room, with free Wifi, and temperature controls which work well. The lobby is small and uninspiring. The floor hallways are tired, with old carpets. So, not a great impression. However, my room was recently renovated so things were much fresher and cleaner in the room. Please make sure to confirm you have a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
