My daughter and I stayed here for our annual girls getaway. The location of this hotel was perfect - close to restuarants, shops and Union Station! The frontdesk staff were friendly, the restaurant staff were friendly as well. The room was rather dated and the carpet needed to be replaced (or thoroughly cleaned). We stayed at the Novotel in Ottawa... More

The hotel was spotless. The room we had was large and had several comfortable chairs. We ate at Chez Nicole both for dinner and breakfast. The Canadian exchange made it very reasonable and we didn't have to go looking for another place. The food was of high quality, although the dinner menu was limited. I would definitely go there again.

Arriving in Toronto by air and needing to get Downtown you are faced with basically 2 choices cab which can be costly or the UPX. I chose the UPX which are a recent price drop is very good value. That brings you into Union station in Toronto which has recently seen an upgrade and getting out of the station turn... More

No frills but clean and comfy. And location location location! Plain and simple, this hotel is the best bang for your buck downtown Toronto for a game or event. Short walk to ACC and Roger's Centre. Multiple restaurants and pubs directly across the street

We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of July, and it was one of the best options we did in our roud trip in Canada. Booked this hotel because of its location, as it is close to Union Station, Toronto Islands ferry terminal, CN Tower, Aquarium... (everything within a maximum of 15 min walking distance), we... We came for a mini vacation to Toronto and it was our first time staying at The Novotel City Centre. It will be our last. Upon check in we were greeted by a somewhat friendly staff member. We headed to the elevator and couldn't understand why the elevator would not move. We had to be told by another guest that... More

Enjoyed our family stay here, Stayed for a week in inter-connections rooms. The outside of the hotel looks good, and reception area is bright and modern. Staff we dealt with were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are a good size and clean, but quite tired and could definitely do with a make over. Despite this, I've got to say... More

We got 2 connecting rooms for a family of 5 for 3 nights. Nothing negative to say about the hotel, except maybe that our rooms were close to the elevators and it was noisy at times. Very well located: walking distance from financial district, CN tower, Toronto islands ferry, etc... Rooms were nice and clean. Very good breakfast - Breakfast... More

Got to the room and found that the door key did not work and had to go back to the fron desk where a somewhat surly person said "it was not my fault" which was technically correct, another person had done it but his angry defensive attitude was not helpful after 26 hours of travel. Noisy room - heard baby... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
