Here on business, to meet at a site very close to Billy Bishop airport on Toronto Island. The hotel was located in the area of the St. Lawrence Market near Lake Ontario. We had no trouble finding the place, underground parking was well lit and organized, and the reception staff were professional and pleasant. The rooms were solid; I liked... More

Husband and I stayed here two nights recently. There is paid parking which is pretty standard in Toronto, but it's reasonable. The location is great, it's within walking distance of the lake, where you can get a ferry to the Toronto Islands, and of the Hockey Hall of Fame. It's also within walking distance to many restaurants and bars, some... More

I paid a relative high cost for a Signature suite which was fairly average in size and layout. It also had little natural light so first impressions were drab. The suites seemed to bear little resemblance to the website pictures shown on booking. Staff were very good throughout.

Location of the hotel was absolutely fabulous. Had a room directly above the Old Spaghetti Factory. Brought the kids who really enjoyed the pool, the friendly staff and we all slept soundly. Would stay here again when in Toronto for pleasure.

Stayed at Novotel for a wedding in June and was very pleased. The price is very reasonable for being in such a great location. walking distance to Hall of Fame, Hockey, Baseball etc. only bad thing was they dont fill their pop machines but will give you free water at bar. I would stay here again.

Having stayed in a Novotel before we were really pleased we stayed at this one. It was what we expected and more in all areas. Room was clean and large, friendly staff and good service. The pool facilities were great and it was never busy. Food was good although there could have been more choice for lunch and dinner. Great... More

Didn't enjoy this hotel all at. The room was super small (big price) and with the cost of parking it was too much money to pay just for location. The location is about the only thing I liked - well the Keg across the street was a plus. The bathroom was dirty and only had a shampoo and a bar... More

I was in Toronto for a convention and stayed at the Novotel for 4 nights. Room was nothing special though comfortable. I especially like the mattress, a cut above similar priced hotel chains. Location is very convenient and is a 5 minute walk from the UP Train that comes in from Pearson Airport to Union Station and a 12 minute... More

Granted this is a great location close to the Sony Centre however on a cost per square inch basis it reviles the Hyatt and Royal York. On the bright side it is clean and efficiently operated. The French hotel chain is passionate about marginalizing your foot print in their hotel so expect a compact room. The cafe downstairs is excellent.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
