First time staying at the Novotel as usually use the Omni or One King West. However the prices they were looking for were ridiculous so decided to give the Novotel a go as heard it had been fully renovated since covid etc.

Great location, 5 mins walk from Union station if you are coming on the the UP express from the airport - easy flat walk with luggage. They can also store it for you if you are there before check-in or not leaving until after check out. Plus number of restaurants on door step and 5 minute walk to St Lawrence Market, 10 mins to Distillary district and Eaton Centre. Also only 2 minutes from Berczy Park, great place to sit, relax and just watch the world go by.

Lovely reception area and welcome from staff was very friendly. We had two separate bookings for two nights in a row due to change in flights but they ensured we didnt have to move rooms. Elevators require your room keycard to operate to extremely safe.

Room had been updated and was reasonably size for a downtown hotel room which is not a suite. We had a window looking down and out onto the Esplanade bars and restaurants but we were not disturbed at all from the street - great soundproofing.

Bathroom was also very modern and good quality toiletries. Only slight complaint was the noise of the refrigerator in the room - however we switched it off during the night so problem solved.

Will definitely use again when staying downtown.

I booked in here for one night as I wanted to stay close to the Via Rail station, I was arriving late one afternoon and leaving early the next morning. This hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the station on a reasonably busy road, so I felt quite safe in a strange city.

I had booked on a travel website and mentioned this when I checked in. The receptionist reminded me that Accor who own the chain will price match any travel website offers, I had forgotten this. Nevertheless she added the booking to my Accor account and gave me a voucher for a free drink as I have silver status with them.

My room on the third floor was very nice, a large comfortable bed, newish looking white towels and a decent shower room with both an overhead and hand held shower. They use Rituals shampoo etc which I liked, although there was no body lotion provided.

The room had the usual safe, fridge, iron, kettle, coffee maker and a large flat screen smart TV. Check in and check out was quick - they do ask for a $100 deposit to be held on a credit card when you check in but I don’t have any issues with this as most hotels I stayed in in Canada did the same. I am returning to Toronto and if I did not already have another hotel booked and paid for, I would probably return to this one.

Everything we needed: good price and comfortable room. Firm but comfy bed and faux down comforter. Large bathroom with shower. The shower leaks outside, but if you hang the bathmat to dry, it does so quickly. I sleep hot and could only get the room down to 65°, which is still a little bit warm for me but tolerable. We stayed in a renovated room. Fridge, coffee, maker, and bonus! An electric kettle provided in the room.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I don't recall ever staying at a Novotel property, so we took a risk based on the reviews here and it definitely paid off. The hotel was very quiet other than the usual city street noise. I usually request a room on the top floor of hotels so I can avoid hearing other people's footsteps while trying to rest. However, I was not on the top floor and never heard other guests other than the occasional closing/opening of doors. I also usually request a clean set of sheets at every hotel so that I can re-make the bed because someone else's hair is always in the bed. Not the case with this hotel! My sheets were actually changed and clean upon check-in. I don't know the young lady's name, but whoever was doing housekeeping on the 8th floor in early July is a GEM. Thank you for providing superior service!

The hotel restaurant also has great service which we enjoyed for both breakfast and happy hour. Try the cauliflower tacos - they were the best thing we ate in Toronto! Location is excellent. We didn't have to walk or Uber far for everything we planned to do. Front desk staff was very attentive and pleasant even when busy. This experience was a huge win all around!

Upon arrival we were informed that the jacuzzi/pool area was closed due to annual maintenance, which I was not told at booking. We were excited to try the saunas. We were disappointed to find that the saunas were in the men and women's bathrooms and was not able to go in it with your partner. We decided to order food from the restaurant downstairs and each got the "smash burger." It was most definitely not a smash burger. It was about two inches thick with no onions like it said but just tomatoes and lettuce. My boyfriend ordered a salad and they provided no dressing. There was also no aioli with the fries that we asked for. Very overpriced for the poor quality. The cheesecake was good. We also couldn't log in to any Netflix or streaming accounts on the TV. Most new/updated hotels I've stayed at provide this. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything. When a door shut the whole floor could hear it. A maid tried to open our door and was knocking loudly hours before check out. One maid even opened our door and came into our room, without knocking before we checked out. Positives- the room was clean and bathroom was updated and nice. Everything else quite frankly sucked.

My son and I stayed here for Christmas and it was so lovely! From the minute you walk in, the lobby is beautifully elegant and the staff are so friendly and helpful. You can park for as long as you need to at the front door to take your luggage up to your room, but even the parking garage is really convenient and easy to take things up and down to. The rooms & bathrooms are so beautifully fitted out, the beds are comfortable and it’s so quiet. I would’ve loved to have stayed at Drake’s house while we were in Toronto, but this was an excellent second choice :)

Three nights at the start of a Canada/Alaska holiday then one last night before flying home, this hotel is ideally situated within 15 minutes walk of Union Station (a 25 minute train journey from the airport) and for the main Downtown sights. The rooms were pretty basic but functional and clean, fine for overnight stays but not so great if Toronto is your sole destination; not a place you could relax and spend time in.

On our last night here we decided to dine in the hotel cafe/restaurant and boy was that a mistake! Terrible food, terrible service but still up there with Toronto’s relentless overcharging so I wish we’d just gone out to a proper restaurant.

I’d say 3.5 stars in truth, 4 if you are lucky enough not to dine here.

This was a repeat visit to the Novotel Toronto Centre, and there will be more, as I found it clean, comfortable and convenient, with friendly staff. The rooms have hard floors rather than carpet, which is a plus when it comes to hygiene. The lobby is airy and has a small selection of to-go food. There is also a convenience store next door, and a Metro supermarket five minutes away. The local restaurants are a bit frat-themed, but there are so many more to try a bit further away. The hotel is a short walk from Union Station, with connections to the UP Express to the airport, Via Rail and the subway and streetcars. Great night-time views of the CN Tower just steps away. Only a few downsides: the shower door seals don't work well, so water will escape onto the bathroom floor, and on one occasion the water didn't run hot, just lukewarm, probably because it was breakfast time and many people were getting ready for the day. One tip: do *not* use the ATM in the lobby, which charges a monstrous $7 fee for withdrawals, double what a bank ATM would charge.

Very good hotel. Great location. A 7-minute walk from Central Station. Unbeatable concierge service. Breakfast is buffet and charged separately, but you can have breakfast whatever you want and that will pay (e.g. latte, toast, cream cheese, jam). Carmen in the restaurant, a gem attending and speaks Spanish

The location is great, near the St-Lawrence market downtown and an easy walk to the subway and downtown attractions. There is also a Metro supermarket on Front street where you can get groceries to keep in the small fridge provided in each room.

During these pandemic times, the pool and the gym are closed and there is no housekeeping. I find even after the pandemic they can offer the option to forget the housekeeping to save costs, help the environment and also to avoid having to leave the room to let housekeeping in.

The room itself was very quiet on the 9th floor, newly renovated with "engineered" wooden floor, a large TV and very clean.

The only annoying thing was the parking: I was told at reception to park in the indoor parking just behind and pay them directly. When I got there signs all over told Novotel guests to register and pay at the reception and some guy came screaming at me that I would get a huge ticket if I parked there. So I go back to reception and again they say you can pay $ 33 per night here or $ 25 per night directly with them, so went back to the parking and paid 4 nights directly at the machine. I think it may be that at $ 33 per night you get in and out privileges, but at $ 25 per night not ( of course you can always pay one night at a time). A suggestion to the hotel: post on your site and at reception clear signs of the options available, their costs and the location of the parking, it would be most helpful!

Other than the parking confusion, I'd stay there again hoping the situation in the future will allow the pool to open.
