Really 4.5, but had to round up to 5. This hotel did most things right. We'll start with that, then move to the not so right... -Very helpful front desk staff/concierge who went out of their way to help. -Beautiful, clean room -Great location, a 10-15 minute walk to all major attractions; 5 minute walk to St. Lawrence Market -We... I loved everything about this hotel! The lobby and rooms are beautifully decorated and very modern, the rooms are HUGE, and the beds some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The staff was extremely courteous and professional and went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The location doesn't get any better... More

Tickets to a Barbra Streisand concert brought us to Toronto, and The Omni King Edward Hotel. The hotel exudes old world elegance, and modern day comfort. Our stay was in Room #1249. It was beautiful! The room (and the hotel) had been renovated in the recent past. The room was quiet, spacious with a well-designed floor plan of both the... More

For first time visitors wanting to take in the sights and sounds of downtown Toronto this is a great place to stay. The location makes it convenient to walk almost anywhere downtown. It is near the waterfront market, has easy access to Union Station, hop on hop off tours, Hockey Hall of Fame, Ripley's Museum, buses, shopping, eateries, groceries -... More

My husband and I stayed here over the labor day weekend. First off, the location is great! Right in the heart of downtown. We didnt rent a car because of parking fees at all hotels. We took the UP Express from the airport to union station and walked to the hotel. Check in is at 3 pm but we got... More

This was the first time I stayed at this hotel and it was great. Rooms were very spacious and all the staff were super nice and helpful. Very much enjoyed the food as well which was all very yummy (cesar salad on room service menu is the best!!!). I look forward to retuning here for TIFF next year!

There are so many good things to say about this lovely hotel. The front desk service, the concierge team, the valets, the always quickly openings elevators, the spacious rooms, gorgeous bathrooms with huge showers, comfortable beds, great location, historical value and more. But the best thing, the very best thing, was how totally quiet is was in our room! We... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
