AVOID! Worst Hotel Service Experience Of My Life. At night they treat their own guests like unwelcomed street scum. You need to use your room keycard to enter the lobby after 11PM, but on top of that they have a rude and condescending Security Guard interrogate you, rather than a polite concierge. We wanted our friends to help us carry down balloons and cake to the Karaoke bar. They wouldn’t have it. They wouldn’t even let me use the elevator to my room before I was identified, and again this is after I accessed the lobby using my rooms keycard. At one point the guard told me to be quiet, saying 'I dont have the right to speak right now', as if he was a police officer investigating a crime. In my frustration I inserted a curse word into my question ie 'What the ---- is happening.' To that, the manager threatened to call the cops...the COPS, on their own guests, for using a curse word. Great place if you want to be treated like an unattended child or some sketchy vagrant. Next morning my partner explained what happened to the day manager but he was dismissive, said ‘that’s our policy’. He didn’t care. No apologies. Staying at a hotel, especially such an expensive one, guests should feel welcomed. ‘Welcome home’ not ‘Who the ---- are you?’ Never Again with Cambridge Suites Toronto

During my stay, I had a negative encounter with the hotel staff that left me and my partner feeling unwelcome and disrespected. The level of customer service was below any standard I have ever experienced. Evidently, the staff lacked proper training and exhibited a rude attitude towards their guests.   Upon entering the lobby using our room keycard, we encountered a security guard named Vlad who was rude and condescending. Instead of a warm welcome from the manager, Mark, we faced an interrogation from Vlad. While we understood the hotel's policy of not allowing guests after 11 pm, my partner inquired if our friends could assist us in bringing down some balloons and a birthday cake. However, our request was denied. It was then that Vlad, without even identifying my partner by name, claimed that my partner, as the registered guest, had No Right To Speak?! and proceeded to block his way to the elevator. Frustrated by this display of poor customer service, my partner expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation. In response, Vlad immediately threatened to evict us for the use of a curse word.   Throughout this entire encounter, the manager on duty, Mark, did not intervene or attempt to address the escalating situation. Instead, he instructed me as the other registered guest to remain silent and even went as far as threatening to involve the police. It is important to note that my friends were not engaged in any threatening behaviour. They were standing near the entrance.   This hotel clearly lacks a welcoming atmosphere and treats its guests with disrespect. It is disheartening that the day manager I spoke to the next morning displayed dismissiveness and justified their staff's behaviour by citing it as their policy. Not once did he offer an apology for the distressing experience.   When staying at a hotel, guests should feel valued and embraced, rather than subjected to unwelcome treatment. Unfortunately, this establishment fails to provide the hospitality one expects. I strongly advise against choosing Cambridge Suites Toronto for your accommodation needs.

We found this hotel location on hotwire.com. We decided to book it and glad we did. The reviews are mixed regarding the hotel’s, decor and age. However, we found that the decor and age did not impact the quality of our stay. Our room was clean, the sheets were clean, and the bathroom had the high toilets. That’s a plus when you get up in age and have a disability. We really like the spaciousness of our suite. We had two TVs, and two sinks, gave us the space we needed. The location of the hotel is about two and a half blocks from Eaton Center. You can easily access everything by walking. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we asked for information. Parking underground was convenient. The elevator to parking is right by the elevator to rooms. The only negatives were that the coffee in the lobby was bitter and there is no restaurant on site. Otherwise, this was a good value for what we got.

…to see this property so highly reviewed here. Just goes to show you that it is all about expectations. I was visiting Toronto to see my son, who attends University a couple hours away. In my search for a hotel property that could provide a true suite experience (two distinct and separate sleeping areas), the Cambridge Suites was one of only a handful of options and the least expensive of the lot, so it was the go. I found the website terribly unclear, so I called the property, and between multiple phones calls and emails with a quite helpful Mr. Chavez, we were all set. Arriving at the property, I realized it was one I was familiar with, even though I’d never stayed there before. It is a bit of a Toronto icon, with a very prominent sign. As a former Toronto resident, I recognized it immediately. Now, mind you, I have not lived in Toronto for more than 15 years. And it appears that the Cambridge Suites – Toronto has received no refresh, refurbishment, or renovation in that time. It looks tired and worn, with very “stuck in the nineties” décor. The lobby is small and cramped with furniture, and the elevators (one of which was out of service the next day during peak checkout time) are equally as small. The suite itself fit right in with the theme…90’s décor, with no effort to update. Everything looked…tired. Dated. Everything was also in good working order, but absolutely unimpressive. The bed? I’ve slept on worse, but I’ve slept on much better. TVs? Small and located in awkward spots, like they were added to the rooms well, well after the property was built. The Cambridge Suites also appears to be lacking in staff support. No bell staff – you are own your own with your luggage – and I don’t recall seeing any housekeeping staff either. The description mentions a restaurant – it has long been closed. In summary, the Cambridge Suites Toronto is NOT a “Four-Star” property as described, nor should you be fooled by the 4.5 circle ratings, or its claim as one of “Canada’s top 25 hotels”. It was clean, it was functional. That’s it. Not a single luxurious element otherwise. It served its purpose for me – a place where my son and I could stay for three days. But had I been traveling with the Mrs. and expecting a 4 star, top 25 hotels type experience, I would have been really, really disappointed and angry. Be ye advised…

Dear GoGoBear, Thank you for your review. I'm glad Mr. Chavez was able to help you with the information you needed. I do apologize that your stay wasn't to your satisfactory and expectations. Our management will be aware of your concerns. We haven't had any major renovations to the property in a while and I'm not aware if there will be anything done in the near future. We don't have any bell staff, but we do have staff to assist with baggage when requested. We do have daily housekeeping service. Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Cambridge Suites Toronto and we hope you do choose to stay with us again in the near future.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of May for a quick trip to Toronto. We took a 6 am flight from Newark so we got to the hotel at 9ish. They told us our room wouldn’t be available until 3 (check-in is at 4) but at least they were able to store our luggage. We ended up returning to the hotel at around 2 and luckily, our room was ready earlier than the quoted time. Here are some pros and cons of the stay: Pros: -There’s a mini fridge, microwave, k-cup machine and wet bar -In-room safe -Bed and pillows were pretty comfortable -USB ports -Centrally located in Downtown area. There are lots of restaurants nearby -Night light in the bathroom -Nice toiletries -Daily room cleaning. Lots of hotels nowadays only clean your room upon request ever since Covid -Two TVs -Top floor has a hot tub and a sauna, though we didn’t have time to use it -Free coffee and pre-packaged pastries in the lobby in the morning -Plenty of counter space on the bathroom sink Cons: -Rooms are a bit dated but you can tell they’re trying to add small details here and there (i.e. USB ports) -Bathroom needs to be redone. Both the shower and the sink were kind of jankity. The water from the sink’s faucet gets extremely hot and the drain was a bit clogged I don’t think I would stay again until they renovate the bathroom. However, other than that, it was overall a great and comfortable stay.

room not as promised, we opened the door to find the coffee table on the couch and the garbage cans on the counter, the lamp beside the bed did not work, mildew on the tile caulking and was also led to believe that there was a separate shower , not so, only a shower in the tub . I wont go back there

I was in the accessible suite 1210. The bathroom was a good size and the bed & pillows were fantastic. There were quite a few seating options: dining room table, wingback chairs & coach for TV, desk in bedroom. The 'kitchenette' was small but reasonably appointed for a hotel. Best of all was the location. It was 300 m (around the corner) from the event I was attending. There are many downtown/distillery district attractions within a 15 min walk. On-site parking available and cheaper than parking elsewhere nearby.

We had a lovely two night stay here during a snow storm. Comfy large room with good amenities. There isn’t a restaurant on the premises so we had to go out to eat. They do provide coffee and a muffin in the lobby in the morning. Coffee was fine, muffin not so much
