Cabbageville B&B offers warm, welcoming hospitality and well appointed, comfortable rooms. It's located in Cabbagetown, a quiet and leafy district of well kept old town houses. It's a little way from the centre of town but simple enough to access by streetcar (nearest stop: Carlton/Parliament St). Best take a cab from the airport if, like us, you're travelling with heavy... This place captures the spirit of Cabbagetown in a beautiful way. The interior of this 19th century house is so cozy and the hosts are so amazing that you feel at home the moment you walk inside. I highly recommend it - I loved every part of my stay!

Exactly as advertised ..super comfy beds ....nice and quiet (we hate staying downtown listening to sirens all night). Loved the photo gallery at the foot of the stairs with it's attendant stories. Fireplace (Electric) in the room was very nice.

This B&B is in a beautiful quiet location, hosted by friendy owners and cats, however it is slightly out of the way (30 mins out of downtown via streetcars) and no breakfast is served - the only food available being dry biscotti and cookies. We also booked the Normandie and were provided the smaller Provence room - without explanation. Comfortable... More

I am so sorry you did not receive the room you booked. I wish you had mentioned it, as I am sure we would have been able to move you across. We consider both our en suite rooms to be equally as lovely, both have pillow-top mattresses, fridges, TV, and views. "Spartan" is, I think, a little harsh - one... More

We stayed 2 nights to explore Toronto on our way to the Shaw Theatre Festival. Our hosts were wonderful, and the accommodations exactly what we like. The house was well-appointed and welcoming. The location is great -- Cabbagetown is a wonderful and walk-able neighborhood. We walked to wonderful restaurants. Our room was perfect, as was the bath. We stayed upstairs... More

Although our stay was short, just one night, we enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts and the accommodations. We walked over to Parliament both in the evening and the following morning where you'll find food, beverages, and shopping.

Friendly, helpful owners. Nice room (we had the en-suite room) in a quiet location, with quite a few eating places nearby. We stuck to the House on Parliament both nights we were there. Cabbagetown is a pleasant, mainly residential area about 20/25 minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

Very quiet neighborhood just a street away from bakeries, restaurants, and a drug store. This location is relatively close to downtown and pretty much everything we visited during our 4 day long stay in Toronto. There are 3 cats living in the house 1 of which is friendly and actually demanded attention from me and my fiance 3 out of... More

Very warm and welcoming B&B*. Gailo was an outstanding host, as well as her husband and daughter. My room was very clean, with NO BEDBUGS, and believe me I checked! Lovely Victorian neighborhood and great pub around the corner called, The House on Parliament. Theres plenty of coffee in the house whenever you need it, but I highly recommend the... More

We were a family of five staying for three nights. We booked two rooms and Gailo kindly fitted in an extra mattress for our youngest child. We had a great time here. The facilities were lovely, the location perfect and service exceptional. Gailo and James were very welcoming and had lots of advice for things to do during our stay.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
