The room assigned to us looked out over the field, but the Blue Jays were out of town. Still, a great view of the playing field in the Rogers Centre. Unfortunately, the lights were left on all night and staff worked through the night cleaning the stadium, which made for a rather restless night. Beyond that, the Hotel staff were... More

We were in Toronto for vacation and to attend the World Cup of Hockey - the hotel is right in the heart of the entertainment district and accessible every way possible. Loved that it was near the CN Tower, and Ripley's Aquarium. We had a rental car, but there is public transit all very close by. The hotel itself is... More

We were in Toronto for the World Cup of Hockey and stopped in this hotel between games for a drink and some food. The hotel is literally a part of Rogers Field ,the home of the Bluejays ,and when you sit in the restaurant you are overlooking the ball field. At the time the baseball team was out of town... More

Loved my stay: large room, beautiful and modern bathroom, great deals, complete Starbucks in lobby, floor to ceiling windows on Blue Jays stadium! Staff was great. Short walk from downtown and Union Station and UP from YYZ. Awesome location. Would stay again when in Toronto. The only shortfall is their gym: need to switch elevators and no natural light (basement)

Please stay away. I just came back from the Renaissance Toronto Downtown. I was up in Toronto for a three day trip to watch the World Cup of Hockey. The first night there I was attacked by bed bugs. I had no less than 30 bites all over my arms and legs. I then had an allergic reaction to the... More

My only issue with this hotel is with the elevators and the fact they are unreliable and unsafe. They need to be replaced! We got trapped in one on our most recent trip. When we pressed the emergency security button we were told they needed to contact the elevator technician to "free" us. When we buzzed a minute or so... More

I've just stayed here for 10 nights. I think that this is a great hotel with really friendly staff. If I was to visit Toronto again, this would be my first choice hotel to stay at. I was surprised by the size of the room, it was a lot bigger than I was expecting. It had the luxury of a... More

Had a great stay in Toronto at the Renaissance Hotel. Staff was very friendly. Wish I remembered the lady who checked me in, all I know is it was her first week there and she did a great job! She was very warm and welcoming. The view of the stadium was such a treat! Hope to come back one day.

We stayed here for the weekend Boston was in town so we could attend two ball games to mark it off of my bucket list. this hotel is where to stay as we walked to everything. It is also a hop skip and a jump away from the CN Tower as well. The room we had was huge, the only trouble... More

Stayed one night to attend a tfc game! Location is perfect to many attractions and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable! The service was fabulous! We even took in some drinks and snacks at the bar looking over the Rogers centre! Fabulous! Starbucks in the hotel and a great lobby to chill! I booked the hotel again for another... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
