Long story short I booked with hosteling and when I got there my booking had been canceled... they explained to me that it was hosteling and not them that canceled but when you arrive after 20 hours flight that is not what you want to hear. They offered a room at a special price, more than I had previously paid... More

The building is old, I think it's a heritage building, so there are some creaks and noises you might not hear in a newer concrete hotel but the room although kind of small was very comfortable and the bed was confortable. Very pleasant and helpful staff as well.

Small room - window faced a brick wall and there seemed to be another exit door but it was locked - could have been a fire escape - glad there was no fire. There were three of us and the roll away bed squeaked every time you moved on it. Great location - close to restaurants and shopping.

Recently stayed at this hotel for a business conference. It is definitely not a boutique hotel. Room was extremely small (smaller than a studio apartment of a university) for a business deluxe room with no view. Washroom door opened into the toilet. Bathtub shower curtain remained open & didn't close. Apple TV is advertised & non functional. Hotel room phone... More

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel did not have an 'early check-in' policy; however, they worked to get us into our room as soon as it was available. We were surprised at how small the 'Standard Queen' was. A 'King Deluxe' isn't that much more money so we'll choose that type of room next time. We were able... More

Nice hotel well placed for sight seeing. Room booking issue partially resolved by helpful staff. Surprised to see no safety deposit facilities in room. Safety deposit box at reception for use by all guests! Not very safe or secure. Rooms are very small and bathroom even smaller. Coffee maker but very limited supplies. Beds very comfortable though. Very limited wardrobe... More

As a family of 5 we were a bit dubious about staying in downtown Toronto. The airport taxi bought us to the hotel in about 30 minutes for our 4 night stay. We arrived slightly early but the hotel let us store our luggage while we got some food and they had one room ready early for us so let... More

Despite being on the sixth floor, the room was very noisy with the noise from street noise, vehicles, motorbikes depite having the aircon on continuously. I had requested a quiet room as part of my reservation request so assumed this was as quiet as it got for being on Yonge Street. They need to soundproof the windows. The room was... More

I booked this hotel for a business traveler as, unfortunately, it was during the tail end of TIFF so our regular corporate hotel was fully booked. My guest advised me that the door to his room did not fit properly so there was light and sound coming in around the door making it difficult to sleep after jetlag. He went... More

Me and my partner have recently stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Toronto for the first time. The location is brilliant, just round the corner from the hockey hall of fame, close to St. Lawrence market and the Lake front. The room was a little smaller than expected but very modern and very clean. The staff were friendly and... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
