This was a half business and half leisure stay. The strong side is the hotel's heritage flair and the location. If you are an active traveler you will probably love it as it really sets you back in tone and you can explore on foot right there. For a business trip, however, there are catches, especially if you require proper...

Fantastic hotel, can't be beat. Clean, stylish, and extremely comfortable bed. Quick and easy check in. Fantastic location, few blocks from Union Station, close to subway. It will be my first pick in Toronto, would definitely stay there again!

We stayed at this hotel Dec 16. It is a very small hotel and we actually walked by it couple of times before finding it. However the location is ideal for those wanting to explore downtown. No parking however Lobby was quaint but clean. Check in was friendly and helpful, however when we called prior to check in to inquire...

the location is unbeatable, it terms of best city location in all of Canada, having said that the prices are very reasonable. Parking is a downer (they don't have any) but there are very expensive city lots around, very cozy old hotel clean and great service

This is a nice, limited service, hotel. Not much on offer but the room, but the location means anything you need can be found locally. Very close to Union rail station, subway, Eaton Centre etc. Rooms tend towards small but well appointed. Free wi-fi and bottled water are nice touches and beds are comfy. We upgraded to a king. Stylish, clean, friendly, good value, right downtown. Take the train to Union Station to avoid the bother and cost of driving and parking. The King subway and the underground PATH are right outside the door. Great breakfasts at Over Easy.

It was a wonderful stay in a cute hotel right in the middle of places we wanted to explore. Clean and cozy. The window handle was broken the first night; window didn't close fully, so there was a cold draft -- however, it was immediately repaired the following morning.

It happened to be a terrible time to travel. We ended up spending the night in the airport, and when we got to Hotel Victoria, we were tired and wanted a change of clothes. However, it was hours before check-in time, so we only asked them to hold our bags. The lady at the front desk, however, told us they...

This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. It is a great value, clean, comfortable and well-staffed. We had a nice time here but had a few concerns about cleanliness, most notably in the washroom. The concierge had it attended to immediately when I complained. We asked another front desk clerk to make a reservation at the O&B Grill across the street for dinner. She didn't do it and when we came down to go out she...

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
