The only positive is that there isn't a elevator to wait for. The running shower had a weird smell to it, the room was very small despite having one of the bigger rooms booked. Perhaps because it was New Year's Eve the prices were so high. There are a lot of "fancy" fixtures, crown moulding, antique tables, marble floor mandalas,... More

Stay away from here. No front desk service, Perhaps you will be locked out of the hotel if you forget your room card, or anything wrong with your room card, there's no one can help you there in the hotel, you can call the manager but no one gonna answer you. Last but not least, bed bug!

This hotel is reasonably priced and situated across the street from the Wellesley subway station, which makes it convenient to move around using public transportation. Also, you can find lots of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. My room, a single room, was clean but really small. It was quite tricky to open my large suitcase and there was no... More

Stayed at the hotel for two nights in June, booking one of the higher grade Platinum rooms. There are no reception / lobby facilities, therefore you are on your own, and this hotel might not be for you if you are not a confident traveller. If you are independently minded then it is great value. Plenty of local bars and... More

Good location around all the action.Rooms are tiny no closet lots of hooks and a very cute nice bathroom.I felt a little uncomfortable because there are no staff or reception desk or basically on your own. It,s like someone giving you the keys to their house well they are away. They have a secured outside lock which works with a card.I... More

My daughter, who is five, and I stayed here in 2014 during the Busker's Festival (which I highly recommend). We wanted a hotel close enough to walk to the festival and wasn't going to break our wallet. After some trepidation we decided on the Wellesley Manor. I have to admit if my parents hadn't already booked here, I probably would have... More

The location of this hotel is brilliant. It is very easy to get around the city from this location. There is a subway station directly across the street. The hotel is located very close to Yonge St. and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and right next store is The Fox and the Fiddle; an Irish... More

The Wellesley Manor Boutique Hotel was really cute and in a great location. My husband and I walked to downtown in no time and had a blast. The hotel itself is a century home. Our room was small, but had everything we needed, with a good sized washroom. The TV was in a really weird spot and was hard to... More

Booked this hotel through Hotwire when I became stranded in Toronto after a hockey game as NB 400 had be closed due to an accident. I was mortified when I went to the website after booking and it said you had to notify WHEN you would be arriving and that no on was manning "front desk" (there isn't one) to... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
