I visited here at the August 2014. I arrived to the hostel after 11 p.m. after hitchhiking all day long. The owner of the hostel, Lloyd, still welcomed me and gave me nice room for one night. The next day he took me to see the surroundings a bit (a place to swim etc.) and we had a good time...

I recently returned to this charming hostel after four years . The world traveler host Lloyd with the same warm smiling face was there to greet me. The artifacts from all over the world are displayed though out the hostel with fascinating written articles on the walls including those of Lloyd in Borneo , South America and many other places....

There was something fishy about this place upon arrival... something felt bizarre 'energywise'... My first impression was that the owners were hoarders. Welcome to CLUTTERVILLE ! My feeling was amplified when I opened the fridge... gross! In any event, I arrived late and was very fatigued so I hit the sack right away. I didn't get to sleep at all...

Myself and a friend stayed at the hostel for 1 night. We never met the proprietor Eugine but I imagine he would of been a great man. We had the place to ourself, and it is not creepy as an above review suggests it is very unique decor taste at the most. It felt homely and there was a fully...

I'm sure this place was once a wonderfully eccentric, whimsical, inviting place. But now it has passed some sort of threshold and has become a run-down, creepy, and frankly disturbing place. Imagine it: a un-signposted hostel in the middle of the woods. You are the only guests there. The proprietress has passed away, and the proprietor has temporarily left the...

I arrived at Thunder Bay, on the 1025pm Greyhound. The highway layout has changed so the bus can no longer drop / pick you up at the junction or outside the hostel. Thankfully I was picked up by 2 boys from the hostel and whisked 25km out of town through the dark fields and trees to this crazy hostel. Just...

Originally a motel, Thunder Bay Hostel has an unusual layout that surprisingly seems to work. Honestly, the old, faded linen and tacky decore were a turn-off, but for $25 per person per night, a weary traveller can't go wrong. The kitchen has everything you'll need and there's even complimentary coffee and tea.

We just stayed here passing through Thunder Bay: we arrived late and left early. However, the owner (who wasn't there but kept in touch via email) and the man who was working (I can't remember his name) were wonderful! The rooms were comfortable, the house was clean and the Yin Yang the cat will keep you company! Definitely the best...

The owner was incredibly helpful and we were quite comfortable staying here. I felt quite comfortable here. It is homey and all my needs were met/exceeded. I even snagged a jacket to wear down to the river/lake in the evening.

This pretty unusual hostel is situated perfectly for anyone passing on the Trans-Canada-Highway (11/17) or wanting to go to the Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. You will get a private room with communal kitchen, washroom, garden and two common rooms with satellite TV and Wifi. It's quite near to the highway, but I didn't hear any traffic. And all of that...
