Stayed twice now. I found it perfect for a woman travelling alone and not familiar with bus routes, proximities to restaurants; attractions; shopping etc. Owners exceptionally helpful and I felt very safe as their directions and advice excellent. Breakfasts, exceptional and all made by owner, Dorothy. What choices! And a nice glass of Malbec in the living room to end... More

This is a B and B close to Lake Superior in Thunder Bay. Very unique old mansion. Full of antiques and just has a really charming feel to it. Absolutely lovely. Very comfortable. Very quiet. Gracious hosts. Fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended.

This century home is magnificently furnished. The location, beside a rushing creek, is peaceful and pretty. It is a short walk to restaurants and the waterfront. Breakfast was plentiful and perfectly prepared. All the amenities were first rate. We will be staying here any chance we get. It is not cheap but,in this case, you get what you pay for!

My wife and I spent a week at McVicar Manor and it was the best B & B stay we have ever had (and we regularly stay in B & Bs when traveling). The Manor truly is a manor, and you're able to make use of the large living room and sun room for reading or relaxing, as well as... More

What a beautiful place! Tom and Dorothy are wonderful hosts, and the manor is beautiful and inviting. We were served a fabulous breakfast after a comfortable night's sleep. Fort William and Kekabeka Falls are a short drive away, and there are many great eating establishments within walking distance. We will stay here again whenever we are in Thunder Bay.

If you are looking for a quality b n b in the Thunder Bay Area, this is the place. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous yard. Delicious breakfast. I would recommend the rooms with a private bath if it is in your budget. Off street parking and easy walk to multiple nice restaurants are additional perks. Our hostess for the couple days we... Take a good part of one day to explore McVicar Manor that is filled with real wood furniture, has hardwood floors and sits on a large property beside a fast-running creek. To get to the Creekside room you would have to be a ghost to climb the stairs without a sound. Good lamp and overhead reading light. Good mirrors. Comfortable... More

The innkeepers here are personable, informative and know how to run an inn. Their attention to detail is extraordinary - nothing was overlooked. The inn, built in the 1800s by a wealthy coal magnate, has been lovingly maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with all the little niceties provided. I only wish that we were able to spend more... More

We were doing the circle trip. We seen this on trip advisor. It was all it was booked to be. Very nice. Clean. Modern but charming. Thank you Dorothy and Tom for a wonderful stay. We will be back. And also within walking distance of restaurants and downtown. You won't be sorry.
