This hotel is very nice and located a short drive outside the city in a quiet area with a great view. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Unfortunately we did not notice when making our reservation that the pool area was closed temporarily due to renovations. This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel where not all the pool amenities were available due to mechanical, cleaning or renovation issues. last time we stayed the hot tub was out of commission. We were offered a room upgrade free of charge due to the fact that the pool was not available, and since the room was available and we are Best Western Rewards Members. Cliffhanger restaurant located in hotel was very good, and clean, and the food was very well prepared for breakfast and service was fast.The fact that a full hot breakfast was included with our stay is a big value added plus and one of the reasons we try to stay at this hotel when in the Thunder Bay area. There had been a lot of thawing and freezing due to weather a few days prior to our visit and the walkways and parking lot around the hotel were unsanded or salted and were slippery. Mentioned this to the front desk staff and they assured us they would have it taken care of, but should have been taken care of already as ample time. On the outskirts of the City limites with a wonderful view of Mount McKay, the Best Western Plus Norwester is a gem in the northwest. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and supportive to ensure that every element of your stay is five star.

I really enjoy the rural surroundings that are just minutes from the airport, recreation and shopping. Everyone of the staff are super friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the Norwester when travelling to Thunder Bay.

Very nice hotel, good restaurant, friendly staff. Rooms are very clean. Food was very good, and not over priced. Very quiet spot, unlike other hotels I stayed in no running up and down the hall ways at night.

We stay there many times a year. The Norwestor Hotel is very up to date and super clean. It will take pets for certain rooms. The staff are outstanding and treat us like family - greatly appreciated. The view is wonderful and the surroundings are very peaceful. Its only 5 mins outside the city so in 10 to 12 minutes you are in centre of city or at the hospital.

Went told room would be 300+ for 1 night. Soon as they found out it was for medical they gave me medical rate. You also get a voucher for breakfast at the restaurant. The rooms on the back have mountain view

This Best Western is a lovely complex and very well maintained and the staff, environmental to front staff, were very professional but very friendly and helpful. I will plan to stay longer next time. The swimming pool looks great. There are walks to do in this beautiful area as well. Thank you for an awesome hotel stay.

I just spent 2 days at this Hotel on my to and from Minnesota and cannot say how wonderful the staff is. Those ladies are so dedicated and working 12 hour days to get the job done with staff shortages and do it with a wonderful sense of humour and down to earth demeanour. If I were their boss they certainly would all get a big bonus at the end of this incredibly busy season. The head of Housekeeping was covering at 4:15 a.m. this morning for the Shuttle driver who had left and took me to the airport. The lady in the restaurant was on her own last night and had the best attitude and sense of humour I have ever seen!! All the staff are just awesome and beautiful location, I would stay there anytime because of my experience.
