I have stayed at Acrylic Dreams for the closing weekend of Stratford festival. I felt as I was visiting good friends thanks to the Karen’s and Jacks warm welcome and cozy atmosphere of their wonderful home full of art, books and stories. I felt a great connection with the generous hosts and other guests. My room was very French and charming, it had everything I needed for a comfortable and independent stay; it also had art, prints and vintage objects interesting to explore and to talk about. I felt at home the minute I’ve stepped in. Breakfast has exceeded all my expectations, there was delicious French toast and a lot of colourful fruits and berries beautifully presented. After breakfast I’ve received a relaxing chair massage from Karen and I felt completely recharged and inspired after my short visit. I’d love to come back and spend more time at a friendly home of Acrylic Dreams.

My husband and I recently spent five nights with one of our sons at this wonderful B&B in Stratford, Ontario where we had come see some of the incredible plays at the Festival. We would strongly recommend Acrylic Dreams to any couple or small family looking to spend time in and around Stratford.
Jack and Karen, owners of the B&B and our hosts, were so friendly and helpful! Breakfast every morning—made by Jack and served with a smile by Karen—was yummy and always something new and interesting. Generous portions and lots of fresh fruit! There are two eating areas and we got to enjoy our breakfasts in a cozy room with a bookshelf full of cookbooks; my husband was in heaven! Jack and Karen are very familiar with the many dining options in Stratford and were able to steer us towards some great suppers too.
Our room, which in a hotel would probably be called "a suite", on the top floor was very comfortable and had its own bathroom. There was also a small fridge, drip coffee maker and sink. There was a rattan couch and TV in the area with the single bed for our son. He spent many relaxed hours sitting on the couch and playing his guitar.
I should mention also the chair massage and reflexology treatments each of us scheduled with Karen. This combo, very reasonably prices, was described by her as a "pampering package" and rightly so; we all felt great after!

My theatre-going friend and I stay at Acrylic Dreams every time we come to Stratford. It's an adorable B&B that's within walking distance to all theatres, shops and restaurants. Quiet, clean and comfortable, the hosts Jack and Karen have decorated the house in an eclectic style full of artwork and unique accessories that makes our stay feel like the "dream" part of "Acrylic Dreams." The breakfasts are always delish and healthy. Best of all we get recommendations not only to great restaurants but direction on which plays to see. And they're never wrong! Karen provides reflexology that we take advantage of and I highly recommend to make your stay a pleasure for body and soul.

Every trip I take to Stratford begins at “A B & B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams.” Hosts Karen and Jack offer warm and helpful hospitality always. Also, Jack is an accomplished artist as well as an artisanal baker. The walls in the lounge feature many of his original works, and breakfast features his delicious homemade breads. I was there for four nights, and every breakfast was perfect.
They see every show presented at the Stratford Festival, know which ones are in previews, “opening,” or up and running, and can share interesting details about the current season. They also know the best and most interesting restaurants in town, and where to find virtually anything you may need during your visit.
When I was there last week, they guided me to two exceptional restaurants that were completely new to me – The Starlight and The Common – slightly off the beaten path but not too far. We even walked there. It’s always fun to discover new places, and I recommend both of these.
I may return to Stratford this fall to see the shows that haven’t opened yet, and as always, I’ll stay with Karen and Jack at A B & B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams.

“A B&B on Bay/Acrylic Dreams” is where I stay when I go to Ontario’s Stratford Theatre Festival. I just came back from there and it feels good to be traveling again, seeing great theater, making new friends, and enjoying good food. At Acrylic Dreams, Karen and Jack have a way of providing just the right atmosphere for their guests. Every day starts with a fantastic gourmet breakfast (see photo) in their art-filled dining room. The B&B is walking distance to the theaters and downtown. Traveling by air from the U.S., I needed a Covid test within 24 hours of my return flight. Before I even arrived, Karen and Jack checked into how and where I could get tested. If I can, I’ll be going again late summer or early fall – and stay at Acrylic Dreams. I recommend it.

We were so happy that you were able to return to stay with us at a B&B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams after over 2 years of lockdowns. It was wonderful to re-connect with you and share opinions of the plays. Now you won't need a covid test 24 hours before flying back to the US as the law just changed. Thank you for your enthusiastic and positive sentiments expressed. we really appreciate it and we appreciate all of the exchanges we have shared over the years on all subjects. See you in the fall.

This is probably our eighth at least stay at this B and B and we only hope each year that they have space for us. There are only superlatives to describe our experience with the wonderful hosts Jack and Karen. Our room with private bath is at the same time both spacious and cosy and the bed is a perfect firmness. Breakfasts are not just yummy but presented beautifully with the possibility of eating in the private dining area which seats 4 or in the larger dining/living room. There is a delightful garden area and front porch to relax in and amenities too many to mention. The B and B is an easy (15-20 minute) walk to all the theatres. Jack and Karen are long time residents of Stratford who themselves are avid theatre goers as well as having all the info you might need about the plays, actors, productions both past and present. Most importantly they are warm, welcoming hosts who care about providing an exceptional away from home experience.

Close walking distance to theaters. Jack and Karen are wonderful hosts. Full of information on Stratford and fun to talk with after breakfast. Rooms are very comfortable. Wonderful artwork throughout the B&B. We stayed with friends also attending the festival and were able to walk together to the shows.

My wife , daughter and myself visited Stratford to see 2 plays and stayed overnight at Acrylic Dreams B & B. The hosts, Karen and Jack, were exceptional . We were very fortunate to get the two wonderful rooms as their property is extremely popular having operated their B&B for many years. Their home is exquisitely decorated by artist Jack's many travels and he told us wonderful stories behind their trips. Karen's spa services were perfectly relaxing and allowed us to further enjoy our many walks around Stratford. They were also very well connected in the theater community and were very helpful in their recommendations of activities in the area. Sending us off with a lovely fresh breakfast after a peaceful sleep, set us up perfectly to stroll over to the theater to see Hamlet. Highly recommended! Great hosts, lovely home and perfectly located. Certainly a Dream B&B to visit.

I’ve come to The Stratford Festival at least once a year for about 25 years, and as soon as I get home, I look forward to the next time. One of the things I look forward to is another stay at “A B & B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams.” Jack and Karen make their B&B feel like home, except at home, I don’t have an expert chef preparing my breakfast every morning. And I don’t have a lush and beautiful garden full of flowers.
Besides being a great place to stay, it’s within walking distance of the theaters and downtown. Jack and Karen are deeply connected with the Stratford community and can offer advice on where to eat and things to do, as well as sharing their knowledge of the current season’s shows.
Also, they have a great collection of books, from popular fiction to art, theater, and culture in general. I wanted to get some background on a particular play before seeing it that evening. A quick glance at the bookshelves and I found exactly what I was looking for.
Also within walking distance is "Art in the Park" on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. It's just what it says -- artists set up in the park along the river, near Tom Patterson Theater, to display their work (most are outstanding). I've found them to be friendly and willing to talk about their process and experience as artists. I enjoy it. And it's fun just to walk along the river across from the park.
With every visit to Stratford, I wish I could stay a little longer, but then there’s reality to get back to. This year, I may make a second trip to see some shows that open late in the season. I already know where to stay.

It is always a treat to have you stay with us over the years and to share our love of thetre and art andculture and to be able to discuss these great topics. We hope that you are able to arrange a return trip later in the season to see some of the stratford festival productions that were not playing while you were staying with us in June. Thank you for your positive review. It means so much to us!
