Recently stayed at the Red Coat in the Schaeffe Suite and it was an absolute pleasure! The room was spacious and had plenty of natural light. The air conditioning was a treat especially for the hot weather we were having. The private balcony was an added bonus that allowed for us to have a nice glass of wine outdoors during the evening. Breakfast is served at 9am with a choice of dining room or veranda seating. We opted for the veranda and it was calming to sit outdoors on the covered veranda and listen to the birds. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful! Fresh fruit salad with banana bread, yogurt, puffed pancakes, omlette. You did not walk away hungry! Sandra is a wonderful host who went above and beyond for our anniversary. Having a small bottle of wine and a congratulations card waiting for us.

The location is perfect, just a quick 10 minute drive to downtown NOTL and to many different wineries in the area.

Do not give staying at the Red Coat a second thought. It was a beautiful home with a hospitable host.

Thank you for your review! You are very kind. It is a pleasure to welcome fine guests like yourselves into our home. It has been a long year with lockdowns and various restrictions that it is nice to open our doors and hosts guests once again. Glad you enjoyed the breakfasts I made. Hope you see you again!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this bnb. Starting with our host, Sandra was wonderful. She gave us great tips on parking at the falls and spots that are less crowded from tourists.

We stayed in the Sheaffe Loft, and it was fantastic. The tub was incredible for relaxing and we also enjoyed some time on the private balcony with a beautiful view. The room was so spacious and the bits of exposed brick really brought us the feeling of staying in a historical home. There were so many thoughtful touches, likes the wine glasses/bottle opener and chocolates on our pillow case.

We stayed for four nights, and breakfast each morning was delicious. We had dishes like blueberry stuffed french toast and quiche. Sandra also baked extra muffins each morning for us to take on the road. Appreciated the sign up sheet for breakfast times and the option to enjoy our meal on the porch.

The location or the Red Coat is perfectly situated between the Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, both being a very short drive. We loved having our accommodations set back a little ways from the tourist crowds. It made our time enjoying a meal/drink on the patio so peaceful!

Highly recommend choosing the Red Coat for your Niagara trip!

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Coat Inn! A cozy getaway to enjoy and relax after touring Niagara Falls, NOTL and the local wineries. The room was very comfortable, with wines glasses and mini fridge to make the most of snacks and beverages - we will come back in the warmer weather so we can enjoy a glass of wine on the beautiful balcony connected to our suite! The breakfasts served were so creative, delicious and beautifully presented! We had great conversations with the hosts who were so friendly, and helpful with tips on where to visit (the walk to the Queenston Heights Park and the rich history of the War of 1812, the Landscape of Nations Memorial and Brock's Monument are a must see!) and restaurants to try out. We will definitely be sharing our experience with family and friends and we plan on visiting again!

This was our first experience at a B&B and we were very impressed. Beautiful home and Sandra and Keith were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were to die for: fresh local fruit and made from scratch muffins and main course. Very knowledgeable about attractions and steered us in the right direction to enhance our visit. The room was so comfortable and totally stocked with everything we needed. Beautiful balcony to enjoy our morning coffee and nightly cocktail. Definitely recommend to others and we are looking forward to visiting again.

We’ve been going to the Niagara region for several years and have never had such a wonderful combination of great location, a romantic loft, beautiful views from the private balcony, warm and gracious hosts and great breakfasts. You can find many spots with some of these attributes but this is one rare find that best brings them all together. Had a fantastic few days and have already booked to go back.

I stayed at The Red Coat in January 2017 and again in January 2022 at the end of walking treks on the Bruce Trail. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Keith and Sandra were very hospitable and helpful .

The Red Coat is ideally situated for walking on The Bruce Trail and the village has many historical sites of interest.

We spent the weekend in Niagara on the Lake and really enjoyed our stay at the Red Coat Inn. Sandra and Keith are perfect hosts and were very welcoming and a wealth of information. The rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable and the balcony was my favorite as well as the front verandah. Breakfasts were delicious and original. The location is perfect as it is on a very quiet street at the end of the parkway. We had perfect weather so enjoyed sitting out on the balcony.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Red Coat B&B. Sandra was extremely friendly. Breakfasts were excellent. Sandra made sure to accommodate our dietary needs. The house was clean and welcoming. It was located on a quiet street about half-way between Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake -- a perfect location for us. We stayed in the Sheaffe Loft which was a bit "quirky" but perfect for our needs. I suggest you discuss with the owner before booking that room. The room is large with a private deck. However, it is two flights up with low sloped ceilings on the sides of the room, and the tub is in the bedroom area. Not for everyone, but fine for us. We will definitely return.

Thank you for your review Harold. Yes, the Sheaffe's Loft is located on the third floor and not recommended for those who have a hard time with stairs. The Loft is our largest room; it extends the length of the original house. The jacuzzi tub is exposed to the bedroom area, however, there is a divider that can be placed in front of the tub for privacy while bathing. There is no stand-alone shower in this room but there is a shower wand. The tub is under a slanted wall and therefore one can not stand up but it sure is cosy for a jacuzzi bath! It is a beautiful room to relax after a day of site seeing, wine touring, biking, hiking, or the theatre; whether one relaxes on the private balcony with a glass of wine or relaxing in the tub before bed this room is sure to please. So glad that you both enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to hosting you again in our home the next time you visit the Niagara area! Enjoy the rest of your summer.

My husband and I stayed over for our anniversary. We highly recommend! Sandra and Keith were so welcoming and the breakfast Sandra served us was excellent. The place was beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was so comfortable and was stocked with many amenities which reflected the thoughtfulness of the hosts. We enjoyed walking around the historic Queenston neighborhood and appreciated the guidance that the hosts gave us about the area. Being outside of NOTL proper was actually a benefit. If you are in the area, please consider staying at the Red Coat and tell the hosts we said hello!
