Stayed here with my daughter so she could have a break from her roommate. Spent most of the time in our room...she was writing a paper and I was resting my knees. Room was small but comfortable. Host was welcoming. It was really quiet all day making it productive for my daughter. Breakfast was exceptional. What's not to like? Oh....and... More

We visit Ottawa regularly to visit our son in school. This Thanksgiving we found Avalon and will certainly return. It's conveniently located in a quiet area of Sandy Hill which is a neighbourhood with a mixture of residential, student and embassies. It's within walking distance to the Byward Market and Parliament Hill. We arrived in the evening and called host... More

The B&B host was very welcoming and helpful. The location is close to the stop for buses for the short trip to downtown Ottawa and the museums. Free parking for car was a nice perk. Our room was on the top floor, and was large and airy and all very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a... More

We spent a week-end in Ottawa to enjoy museums, so we booked this lovely B&B to not feel rush in our visits. We like walking, and realized the Avalon is at 20 minutes form the Centre Rideau, Château Laurier, Parliament Hill and Marché By. Kevin welcomed us warmly and explain the few things we needed to know (door code, confirmation... More

Excellent commodities, delicious breakfast, hosts were very welcoming and always available for any questions. The location is very nice, in a calm neighbourhood, and very close to the city center. We highly recommend the place and for sure will come back on a next ocasion.

I'd have a hard time believing that there are any nicer B&Bs in Ottawa at this price range. Kevan and Cassie are just as welcoming and accommodating as any couple could be. Their house is beautifully decorated. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. The wifi works throughout the house. They are located in a cozy neighborhood close to downtown.... More

Christine has a real flair for making delicious breakfast cuisine, with fresh ingredients in generous proportions. Fresh flowers, cloth napkins and lovely tableware complete the luxurious atmosphere. This clean B+B is in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to city center and buses. There is no A/C, so summertime can be hot. Off street parking down the street. Recommended.

We stayed one night in the Van Gogh room and one night in the Sable room. Van Gogh is a smaller room with a double bed and a shower. Despite the smaller size it was clean and it had all the amenities that we needed. The Sable is a bigger room with a nice bathtub, a ceiling fan which was... More

Booked The Ashwood Suite (top floor/attic): 2 bedrooms connected with a bathroom, for 3 nights. Kevan Benner & his spouse, Cassie, were in the process of taking over & moving into the Avalon (already own the Benner B&B which is other half of the semi-detached house). Our hosts were quite helpful, very personable & approachable no matter the time of... More

This home is located in a lovely older neighborhood, right near the central core of the city. If you walk around the neighborhood you will see numerous embassies, consolates and historical buildings and you can also stroll through a park along the Rideau river. At the same time, there is a busy main road with food stores and restaurants just... More
