Locally owned and operated we are a 3 1/2 star hotel, with 5 star friendliness. Located in the heart of the Nation's Capital, we are a smoke free property with 155 guest rooms and 8 meeting rooms. We are situated in the midst of the city's business and tourist district; only two blocks from Parliament Hill. The only way you'll get closer to the hill, is if you get elected.

A plain hotel, but a great price and location. Lots of closet/storage space in the room, which was well laid out. An easy walk to government buildings, Senate, ByWard Market, etc. Special kudos to their housekeeping staff .. the whole hotel is super clean! We needed an early check-in and were accommodated. Parking was at the back of the hotel on a different street and their directions to find it were perfect. We didn't try the fitness room, or the cafe but it looked really nice and the prices were very good. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.

Thank you for the lovely review Trish! Our fitness room is temporarily located on the 3rd floor, until its new home is all renovated. Stay tuned! Our Bibliothèque Café is open daily for breakfast from 7am-11am, and for lunch Monday to Friday from 11am-2pm. We're so glad you enjoyed our great location and good value, and most certainly look forward to seeing you again when you are next in Ottawa!

The hotel is in a great location, just steps away from Parliament, Byward, Rideau Canal and other key downtown locations. That's its best quality. Check-in was efficient but minimal information about amenities was provided. The elevators are also very slow (only two of them) for a large hotel. If you are driving into Ottawa and want to use your car more than once, parking is a BIG issue. You essentially have to find your own parking as their parking lot is always full. If you come on a weekend, you *might* be able to snag a free parking spot at the World Exchange Plaza but it's usually full (especially if you're in on an event weekend such as Winterlude). You're on your own to drive around to find parking, which is usually 20-25$ per day. There is no included breakfast but that's not a big deal given that there are several breakfast places around. The rooms were nice and comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our property! We're glad you enjoyed our great location and comfy rooms. Parking is very limited in our hotel. We do our best to offer guest's other parking options to consider, but this can be difficult, especially on over a long weekend, which is also the last weekend of Winterlude. We appreciate your feedback, and hope to see you again!

We just stayed here over this past weekend. Loved the location - close to Parliament and Rideau Centre but.... Biggest issue was that staff tried to come in our room early in the morning even though we had the 'do not disturb' sign up. And still tried to come in after we told her we were still in bed. They STILL came in after we had left even though we left the sign on?! Couldn't help but feel violated and were not happy. The convenience shop nearby was not open im guessing because it was the weekend? - only coffee shops really nearby. The restaurant is not open late either so not much choice other than to order something (pizza from skip the dishes would have been $50?!) Lastly, parking was $22 per day (despite checking in at 7pm we were charged the full day) and the lot is a nightmare to navigate. Small and awkward. Plus people kept parking in the breezeway making it impossible to get in and out of. Would not stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our property. We're sorry to hear that the housekeeping staff had tried to clean your room when you weren't ready. It's possible that the sign read, "please make up my room" (as it's a double sided sign) and they were attempting to do so. I have passed this feedback onto our housekeeping manager to look into further. There are many coffee shops nearby the hotel - Starbuck's, Second Cup and Tim Horton's, and with our on-site restaurant only open until 11am on weekends, I can see this would be difficult for dinner plans. Most guests plan to eat out in one of the nearby restaurants on Elgin or Sparks Streets, and we're sorry for this inconvenience this caused you. Our parking lot is very limited and is small. Our hotel staff are happy to help you bring your car around to the front of the hotel, or to park your car when you return - just ask at the front desk, and they're happy to help! We appreciate your feedback.

The Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Close to the amenities and park. A short distance to the Rideau Centre and our conference site. Restaurants are near by. Weather was favourable and we went to the park nearby to watch the candle light festival. It was beautiful. The hotel was average but close to our destination.

Good hotel that met all my needs. Great location, quiet and rooms, and friendly and helpful staff. I didn’t get a chance to check out some of the amenities such as the gym so can’t comment. Great stay

Rooms clean and adequate. Bathrooms a little tired but adequate. This no frills standard hotel is based in the business district but within walking distance of some of the main sites and food/restaurant areas. If you want breakfast I suggest you visit the store 2 doors down and pick up something from there. Breakfast was hit and miss and after 50 minutes you could still be waiting. Understaffed.

Nice big room in a good location. Good WiFi and aircon. No safe and the coffee maker was very slow. No fridge and breakfast was very basic. Bathroom was a good size but nowhere to put our toiletries. 2 huge beds. This was a 1 night stay as part of our Canadian contrasts escorted tour with Jonview.

Thank you for your review Veronica! We're glad you enjoyed your spacious room, our property's vacation, WiFi and air conditioning! We do not have in-room safes, however access to personal safes can be arranged through our Front Desk Staff. We have a variety of room types in the hotel. Some have more bathroom counter space than others, and some of our rooms do have fridges and microwaves, however not all rooms do. Should you require a fridge for your room, we do keep a few extras on hand for those with medications, etc... Please inquire with the front desk staff and they'll see if we have one available during your next stay! We hope you enjoyed the remainder of your Canadian Contrast tour!

Spent one night at Capitol Hill Inn and Suites. Last minute booking. It’s a decent, clean hotel. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean. Basic 3-1/2 star hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. There is parking (additional) - space is tight. They will park your car for you if you like. Wifi needs improving. Last minute, I’d stay there again.

Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed our clean rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff! Yes, as the parking lot is a smaller one, we do have staff on to help all guests valet their cars if they'd like assistance. The WiFi signals can vary from room to room, and the usage from other hotel guests may effect the signals. We apologize for this inconvenience you encountered. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again!

We stayed here two nights. We spent the day walking around the capital city. Easy walking distance to all of the tourist spots. The hotel has an old, European, feel to it. However it is clean and the staff is very helpful.
